DITTO!! There is nothing that anyone can take for performance enhancement (even if it is ever proven that that is what happened) which makes it easier to get the head of the bat on the ball just right to clear the yard. no but there is a drug that will make your weight to power ratio go up... and that makes your bat speed faster and that makes the ball go further.
Puhleeze, don't say it didn't make him bigger, stronger than not using the juice.
I know that testosterone and growth hormone allow you to RECOVER faster and BUILD more muscle.
You still have to lift and work out, but it allows for you to continue to lift when normal people get tired and sore.
It also allows for your body to continue to lay down new muscle after the age that or body stops "growing".
My thinking is that baseball's leadership liked the juiced look, like wrestling, and allowed the juice to be used. They were sick of football players looking down on baseball players as soft and lumpy.
Have you noticed the uniforms now compared to the juiced era.... all loose fitting. My wife noticed that...she liked the way Conseco looked in tight pants...now she says they all wear baggy pants and shirts. Why? Cause they're all soft and smaller than they used to be.

Costas covered all that a week ago. Yes, the right mixture can do all that in some. It doesn’t work to that extent in everyone.

I wouldnt call Bonds the biggest steroid abuser. That was most likely Sosa. I'll bet there are many ball players that are dabbling in the stuff.

This whole thread sounds exactly like DUmmies talking about Karl Rove. Success generates hatred, and an intense desire to dismiss the succeeders accomplishments based on the flimsiest of pretexts.
Flimsy? Lemme tell ya about flimsy. I'm an Angels fan--got to go to a couple of the Series games in Anaheim in 2002. I saw the shot he put over the right-field wall in game 2. That was NOT the homerun of a person who wasn't juicing. Everyone around him is going down. Some are already in prison, some will be there soon enough.
And that doesn't include the federal indictment he'll likely be facing when the grand jury reconvenes in September. Naughty, naughty, Barroid--shoulda paid your taxes!

Last week, Trevor Hoffman (Padres ace closer), said if the ball landed in the bullpen they would auction the ball and give the money to their bullpen catcher who has cancer.

Why not just walk him every time he comes to bat from now on?

Careful! Bill Rhoden defender of all things strictly on the basis of race is squirming in his seat right now on ESPN’s The Sports Reporters. Apparently it concerns him that people doubt Barry’s prodigious abilities and think Barry might have had some help along the way.

I’ll grant you that point. But let’s look at another piece (albeit anecdotal) of evidence.
McGuire—70 home runs (Andro)—juicing
Sosa—66 home runs—juicing
Palmero—500+ career home runs—juicing
Canseco—first 40/40—juicing
Caminiti—dead age 41—admitted juicing
Starting to see a pattern here? When you add the fact that most of Barroid’s “assistants” are doing federal prison time (BALCO) over the “cream and the clear”, it’s pretty damned obvious he’s on it. Why would he have missed most of last year now that he CAN’T be on the juice? Look at his HR totals for the last 7 years. Coincidence? Try again.

It is a pitiful way to watch a sport slip...and in the next decade...soccer will be higher in viewership than baseball.I blame Curt Flood for all of this. Free agency gave the outrageous salaries and the desire to do anything to get these salaries. I used to love baseball, I lived in Tucson for years and the local radio stations broadcast the Dodgers and Giants games. I played on and managed a semi-pro team. I gave up all pro sports after free agency.

Oh yes, we’re all so jealous. If that’s true, then why are people here so respectful toward Roger Maris and Hank Aaron? I don’t remember a thread where 90% of the posters were cracking on the Red Sox after their World Series win, either.
Did you happen to hear Bonds’ statement to the press after #755? You’d think a guy would use words like “humbled” and “honored”, and would maybe take a few seconds to say something respectful about Hank Aaron. Oh no, not Barry. It was all ‘me me me’.

Why? What did the jackass ever do for you? Why do you have to be so vain as to expect someone to do something for you before you'll consider doing something nice for them? What a schmuck!

Your proof is...?1. He mysteriously ballooned in size a few seasons ago, before mysteriously shrinking back to normal this season.
2. Jose Canseco says Rodriguez used steroids and will present evidence in a book due out this fall.
