Barry Bonds hit his 755th career home run off the Padres' Clay Hensley in the second inning Saturday to tie Hank Aaron's record.

Bonds is only third. In a tie for first, you'll find the Clear and the Cream.
Emote, emote, emote...
No one suggests that he doesn’t have the ability to make contact with the ball. What they are suggesting is that the steroids artificially increase the force of the swing at the time of contact thereby leading to more HR’s. But this is obvious to anyone who cares to see it.
Interesting link. I wonder how many Bonds would have hit statistically if he hadn’t used steroids. It still would have been pretty high, 600+ I would guess.
He has been tested since 2003 and has never tested postive, how is it helping him now?
“But those who love to hate this man will use it to further that hate. Dispicable in my opinion.”
I saw Bonds, McGuire and Canseco come up as rookies. Together they probably weighed what Bonds weighs now. These were skinny kids who could barely get the ball over the fence.
All of a sudden they are 30 pounds heavier, their arms are bursting from their uniforms and they are hitting 70 home runs.
Granted we can blame the mound being lowered. But that was 20 years ago. We can say the pitchers aren’t as good. We can say they shortened the porches. We can say that “technology” has improved? Maybe Bonds doesn’t take steroids. Maybe he corks his bat.
Or maybe as he got older, his vision was improved with laser surgery and he sees pitches better. Combined with better training techniques his strength improved. Put that and better vision together and you have a better player.
Of course all the nagging injuries that have been attributed over the years to athletes taking steroids, combined with a trainer busted with steroids and an athlete showing up to training camp 30 pounds heavier and busting at the seems does present a compelling argument for steroid use.
No one suggested that Bonds couldn’t hit HR’s without steroids. He just would not have hit as many. I’d also point out that he’s hitting them at a much slower rate at which point you’ll say “but he’s older.” Funny he got better with age while on the juice.
That shouldn't be difficult to determine. Take the average length of home runs hit during the seasons he used steroids, and the average length of home runs hit in all other seasons.
Subtract the difference from each home run hit in the steroid seasons.
Then subtract the number of home runs that would not have been hit long enough but for steroids from 755.
Surely some enterprising sabermetrician has worked it out?
Barry Bonds*
Thank you for that picture of an asshole.
Nice job, Barry Bonds! One more and the record is all yours!
It wasn’t against baseball rules before 2003.It was against the rules to doctor a baseball and there all many pitchers who doctor baseballs and now are in the Hall Of Fame
When Ruth hit 60, that was as many as any other TEAM in the league.
HE was a baseball player.
Bonds is a junkie.
One thing A-Rod and * have in common. Both will wind up their careers without a single World Series title.
What planet are you from, Noob?
The Planet Bonds?
Is your “Barry” by any chance?
Are you a steroid junkie too?
And BALCO's.
Was his scrip doc there to celebrate; the one who writes his steroid prescriptions?
Not quite a typical Barry Bomb but 755 nonetheless.
But does nothing to provide any concrete evidence. When that concrete evidence is presented then I'll start listening to the arguments against his record.
