MIAMI -- Two men were removed from a plane at Miami International Airport Friday night when a passenger alerted authorities and said she overheard them saying they had planned to hijack the plane.
The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on board American Airlines flight 936 from MIA to Hartford, Conn.
The flight never left the gate. The two men were removed and questioned.
K-9 units searched the plane and the flight was given an all-clear to take off.
There were no arrests reported Saturday in the investigation.

On the other side of the coin, I notice that the probable ethnicity of the accused is not given.
I have overheard many times conversations in Spanish that were gross, vulgar or disgusting, because the speakers had no way of knowing that I speak fluent Spanish, but. Were I fluent in Arabic, and overheard even explicit threats aboard a plane, I might take myself and my family off the plane, if my word was all that existed to do anything else.

Reality is, she was on the stand by list for this flight and hedged her bet by getting two guys kicked off.

yes, unless you have elite status than you can end up getting on earlier. obviously a joke. woman was probably a little to close in proximity to these guys and they made the mistake of making a tasteless joke and she turned them in.
Sad to say, but it looks like we’re all going to have to carry mini-recorders with us, or record such things with cell phones. Otherwise, the vigilant will be sued for defamation of character, or whatever nonsense, when it’s just one person’s word vs. another’s.

If this is true, tought titty for Hajji. I'll be tempted to do this on any flight that I make in the future (and a large amount of my family is middle-eastern)!
