In a word: NO.

Its going to be interesting to see how Barry Bonds dies, and at what age, after all the steriods he’s ingested, or rubbed into his skin.

Lyle Alzado comes to mind.

I say, if he comes up and the game isn’t in doubt, let his record-breaking HR be an “Inside the Park” homerun.

The smart coaching decision is NOT to pitch to a guy trying to hit homers, a guy with the most home runs of any other active player. For the integrity of baseball (what's left of it) the best thing to do is...

No, I bet Bonds says something nasty to Bush.

Just like he said about Babe Ruth. See at this link.

I just think it would be hillarious if Bonds hits a fly ball, and the outfielder just happens to “lose it in the sun”, and then the other two outfielders just happen to collide with each other, allowing the ball to roll to the wall.

Then Bonds reaches third, what does he do? He knows he can score and get the record, but ruining the moment for him, or he gives up the run and stays at third.

Just out of curiosity . . . why all the ellipses?

That’s a good idea also. But I still favor not pitching to him. That would be legendary.

I’d call and ask him, “Is it true that stuff makes your ‘you-know-whats’ smaller?”

If it’s an error it isn’t a home run.

If it’s an error it isn’t a home run.

It's only an error if the ball touches the player or comes is close enough that the player should have gotten it. If you simply misjudge the ball, then it is not considered an error.

I wish he would break it already just so that ESPN won't feel obligated to nationally televise every Giants game anymore.

The Red Sox and Angels (two division leaders) are playing at 10:00 tonight, but instead they're airing Nationals-Giants.

If it’s a homerun then it’s a homerun. Inside the park homeruns are way more interesting than over the fence homeruns. They ought to count even more.

Yeah, but Barry wants to just stand there at home plate and watch it. With an inside the park homerun, he doesn’t get that “picture moment.”

President Bush should follow the Commissioner’s lead on this. That would mean no call. I think President Bush should invite Hank Aaron to the White House instead of Barry Bonds.
