Abortion #1 killer of blacks, says Tennessee pastor

The pastor of an African Methodist Episcopal church in Tennessee says blacks in America need to know that an enemy much more dangerous than the Ku Klux Klan and other hate groups snuffs out the lives of more blacks than do violence, accidents, and all diseases combined.

Joseph Parker is pastor of Campbell Chapel AME Church in Pulaski, Tennessee, birthplace of the Ku Klux Klan. Parker says most blacks would agree that the Klan is viewed as the number-one enemy of blacks. Yet despite all the violence that group has committed over the years, the Tennessee pastor says it "pales in comparison" to the violence and killing committed by the world's largest abortion-provider, Planned Parenthood.

"Planned Parenthood kills more black people in three days than the Klan has killed in its entire history of existence," he states emphatically. "Yet many in the African-American community [who] don't even see Planned Parenthood as an enemy would see them as a friend. So one of the things we're using as a platform is explaining that 'you may think the Klan is your enemy -- let me show you the real enemy.'"

Parker says black churches need to educate their congregations on the number-one killer of blacks. "Right now the biggest killer of the African-American community is abortion," he explains. "If you [combine] all the deaths from AIDS and high blood pressure and diabetes ... it pales in comparison."

Parker's says his message is simple. Most blacks, he asserts, would say abortion is not a "black problem," when it is in fact their number-one problem.

Using data compiled from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the group BlackGenocide.org estimates that since 1973, more than 13 million black babies have been killed by abortion. According to that data, deaths among blacks attributed to AIDS, violent crimes, accidents, cancer, and heart disease totaled less than five million.

African-American women make up only 13 percent of the United States population of women who are of child-bearing age, yet 37 percent of all abortions are performed on black women. The abortion rate among black women is more than three times higher than that of white women.

The Pro-Abortion crowd has as one of their goals, the decimation of Blacks in America. Along with illegitimacy, Abortion remains a powerfully destructive weapon used to increase the disconnect between Blacks and the rest of America. Planned Parenthood and African-Americans Day Gardner, president of the National Black Pro-Life Union, says that eugenic policies of Planned Parenthood are still aimed at black Americans. Planned Parenthood identifies its targets as young urban women of color. Racism surrounding the abortion rate must be recognized and stopped, said Day Gardner, president of National Black Pro-Life Union. “The eugenic policies of the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, appear to be alive and well and still directed at black women,” she charged in a press release. Gardner was responding to a Feb. 26 press release on Reproductive Rights and African-American Women issued the previous day by abortion advocate Ipas. In addition to discussing the history between blacks and abortion, Ipas listed reasons for black American women to take part in the abortion movement. It claimed the high rate of abortions among black women was reason enough to warrant their greater involvement and support. According to the Alan Guttmacher Institute, the research arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, more than 90 percent of all abortion providers are located in metropolitan areas. Planned Parenthood, America’s leading abortion promoter and provider, identifies its core clients as young women, low-income women, and women of color. According to Gardner: “The abortion industry purposefully targets the African American community. The question is why? The abortion industry places abortion clinics in our minority and poor neighborhoods to “coax us” into thinking abortion is the best answer — the only answer to an unwanted or unplanned pregnancy — and we ask why? “Black women don’t have to kill our children to have productive, successful lives. Instead of embracing the ‘right to kill’ our children in the name of reproductive choice, we should be working to ensure that each and every African American child is given every opportunity—to experience life—to prove herself/himself—to become part of our rich cultural heritage—to change the world—and maybe also to save it.” Since 1973, more than 44 million unborn children have been legally killed in this country; of these, almost 15 million of them were black. Abortion is the number one killer of African Americans — killing more black people than all other deaths combined, Gardner states. African-American women make up only 13 percent of the United States population of women who are of child-bearing age, yet 37 percent of all abortions are performed on black women. The abortion rate among black women is more than three times higher than that of white women. “It is not whether black women have access to reproductive ‘choices’,” said Gardner. “But rather: Why they are fooled into thinking that they have to make a choice to destroy their child at all. Why have so many black women bought into the lie that their children, born in inner cities, are less deserving of life?”

Abortion Industry Decimating Black Community
–Here in the U.S. the number of black abortions is twice the rate of the rest of society. Some black leaders say those aborted babies are part of a destructive abortion industry that targets blacks more than any other group.The message at this First Annual Pastors For Life Conference was loud and clear.

He said, "Abortion is black genocide. What happens to the moral fabric of a nation that can accept the aborting of a child without a pang of conscience?"
In many black Communities, for every child actually born, three others are aborted. That’s more than double the rate among Whites. In just the last 25 years, 12-million blacks have been aborted.
Childress further said the consequences of those figures will eventually end up destroying a whole race of Americans.
Some say abortion is the number one killer in the black community. This is leading more and more African American churches to speak out and take a pro-life stand.
Bishop Daniel Robertson of Richmond's Mount Gilead Baptist Church hosted the First Annual Pastors for Life Conference. It is an idea he hopes will spread among black pastors.
Bishop Robertson said, "We really need to make a statement to the community that we believe the Bible: ‘Thou shall not kill’."
But Robertson's church does more than just preach against abortion. For one thing, they encourage their members to consider adopting the unplanned children.
The Bishop added, "We go to the abortion clinics and tell people ‘There are other alternatives.’ To educate people: you don't have to do this.“ He added, “And so we do have that ongoing ministry. And then, because our doors are open and because we preach the message of Jesus Christ, we do try to give people hope."
In his book, No Shepherds Cry, Childress says the black church can no longer be silent on this issue.
He said, "If there's a devouring force that's decimating my community, as a shepherd, I must respond with the truth. And deliver the lamb with its young, with its young, from the wolf and the devourer. And the devourer is the abortion industry."
Dr. Childress points out that this should come as no surprise, considering that Black Americans were long ago targets of the abortion industry. In the early 20th century, Margaret Sanger founded Planned Parenthood, an organization that later became the nation's largest abortion provider. Sanger encouraged abortion and sterilization to limit the size of black families.
Childress says she also used the unaware Black minister to further her agenda.
He said, "Margaret Sanger was a devout racist, pro-Eugenics and the author of the Negro Project. She knew the Colored minister was going to be pivotal in getting her program across."
Because of that, both Robertson and Childress believe black clergy must now take the lead in fighting against abortion.
Dr. Childress said, "The Colored minister, the Negro minister, the African American minister is pivotal right now in addressing the abortion issue. Because we have been silent, due to political ties and due to some misinformation." But Bishop Robertson says the issue isn't just with the black church -- but with the faith community as a whole. Bishop Robertson explained, There are a lot of pastors, whether they're Black or White, they're just comfortable, they don't want to stir up anything.”
He added, “You can't stay behind the stained glass windows of your sanctuary, you really have to reach out into your community and make a difference.”

Between 1882 and 1968, 3,446 Blacks were lynched in the U.S. That number is surpassed in less than 3 days by abortion. 1,452 African-American children are killed each day by the heinous act of abortion. 3 out of 5 pregnant African-American women will abort their child. Since 1973 there has been over 13 million Black children killed and their precious mothers victimized by the U.S. abortion industry. In his Letter from a Birmingham Jail, Martin Luther King said, "The early church brought an end to such things as INFANTICIDE." What would Martin Luther King say to the church today? The Rev. Jesse Jackson once said: "That is why the Constitution called us three-fifths human and then whites further dehumanized us by calling us 'niggers'. It was part of the dehumanizing process. The first step was to distort the image of us as human beings in order to justify that which they wanted to do and not even feel like they had done anything wrong. Those advocates of taking life prior to birth do not call it killing or murder, they call it abortion. They further never talk about aborting a baby because that would imply something human. Rather they talk about aborting the fetus. Fetus sounds less than human and therefore abortion can be justified". Jackson's massive flip-flop on the abortion issue is further proof that his political future is far more important to him than are his principles.
