I’ve stood at the edge of a couple of abysses in my life, thankfully none this bad but it’s still consistent. I’ve also been friends with a criminal defense attorney and we’ve had some discussions about her clients looking into the abyss. The A#1 goal when looking at that kind of destruction in your life is to get back to normal. Normal for Vick is playing in the NFL, that’s what he wants to get back to. It’s one of the reasons people make poor decisions in these situations, what you’re outlining is the smart decision matrix, plea out and spend as little money as possible is the smart move. But that’s not a move with any chance of getting Vick’s life back to normal, which is what he wants. My attorney friend has gone through this discussion with many people, but people in this situation don’t want to hear that they’re screwed and should plea out, they want to hear how their attorney is going to prove their innocence and let them get back to their life.
I appreciate how visceral this is for people now. I also appreciate that if he’s found innocent, and it’s not an OJ case, most people will reverse their position. And he WILL be marketable again if that happens. Just like the Kobe trial, rape creates a very visceral response with people, and it definitely impeded his short term marketability, but he was found innocent and the fans have accepted that.
‘And he WILL be marketable again if that happens’
Nope. Its okay, we’re allowed to disagree.
Those minds are so small and inefficient they can't handle more than color, sound and motion....
Rational thought is obviously beyond their demonstrated ability....
No amount of PC-BS or AF will ever change that...
