Being “In Love” is just like being drunk....
You do all sorts of stupid things under both influences...
Oh please, these people writing this article, offering quotes for it, are talking about love. They are talking about what happens when people convince themselves they are in love, or fall tfor someone who is not good at committing.
Love isn’t what hurts, people hurt each other. And it has been proven many times that people in comitted marriage outlive singles and are healthier.
Ah, the wedding ring, such a viscious circle.......
Huh. I don’t think it’s a good idea to use a bullwhip on the first date, but I’m kinda old-fashioned...
“Love really hurts”
Ask any smitten fourteen year old.
When I was 17 years old I went to a local theater. I don’t remember the name of the movie but the previews were for THE CINCINNATI KID with Ann Margaret.
She steamed up the screen!
Pupils dilated! Palms became sweaty! Heart rate went through the roof! I thought the screen was going to burst into flame! I was turned on for two weeks! I never saw the movie as I wasn’t sure I could take it.
40 years later..TCM had the previews on for THE CINCINNATI KID! With Ann Margaret!
She steamed up the screen! I thought the TV would burst into flames! It did blow a circuit not long after!
For me there was...nothing.
No sweaty palms. No racing heart. Nothing.
I knew at that moment I was over the hill, so I got me a rocking chair and a reservation at the nursing home. And I still didn't get to see the movie.
Bummer.
Not to worry.
There is a cure.
Marriage.
what hurts worse is divorce settlement
Love Hurts by the 70s rock group Nazareth
Love hurts, love scars, love wounds
And mars, any heart
Not tough or stong enough
To take a lot of pain, take a lot of pain
Love is like a cloud
Holds a lot of rain
Love hurts......ooh,ooh love hurts
I’m young, I know, but even so
I know a thing or two
And I learned from you
I really learned a lot, really learned a lot
Love is like a flame
It burns you when it’s hot
Love hurts......ooh,ooh love hurts
Some fools think of happiness
Blissfulness, togetherness
Some fools fool themselves I guess
They’re not foolin’ me
(1) I know it isn’t true, I know it isn’t true
Love is just a lie
Made to make you blue
Love hurts......ooh,ooh love hurts
ooh,ooh love hurts

The “Long Riders”. One of the best westerns ever made. Stacy Keach and Randy Quaid:
Frank James: [gazing at Wilhelmina across a crowded dance floor] I got a question for you.
Clell Miller: Fire away, Frank. Fire away and fall back.
Frank James: You ever been in love?
Clell Miller: Oh God, yes. It was terrible. An affliction. Really miserable. Nothing but trouble. Drove me crazy.
Frank James: That bad? Really?
Clell Miller: Yes. She was wonderful.
I read an article once by the WSJ science reporter Sharon Begley, who unfortunately isn’t there anymore, stating that love and madness have identical effects on the brain, as shown by brain scans of live human subjects. I remember showing it to my love, who agreed, and then shortly thereafter she dumped (using the common feminazi lingo) me. Now, that hurt!
