Sen. Thompson launches new site, weekly updates

Former Sen. Fred Thompson (R-Tenn.) announced the launch of his revamped website and started sending out promised weekly updates to online supporters Tuesday.

Thompson’s first update to supporters borrows a page from former Sen. George Allen’s (R-Va.) playbook, using football references to make everyone feel like they’re part of the team.

“Team Thompson needs your support as the 12th man ... and as the 12 millionth man,” Thompson’s e-mail reads. “Thank you so much for everything you are doing.”

The new website contains some components from the first one, includes a biography page and numerous ways to contribute money, but also features video of Thompson speaking directly to supporters and links to news clips.

The site and e-mail are paid for by the presumed candidate’s 527 committee, Friends of Fred Thompson Inc.

I’m waiting for him to do so!!!!!!
I can’t stand Rudy Giuliani. The polls say that Thompson could beat Rudy back to NYC is a heartbeat.

I’m staying optimistic!

Way to go!

I’d like to see either a Thompson/Hunter or Thompson/Steele ticket!

Thompson Committee Launches New Website

Nashville, Tenn. — The Fred Thompson testing the waters committee announced that it launched an upgrade and redesign of its website www.imwithfred.com today.

The website will allow Americans to show their support for a potential Fred Thompson presidential bid as he continues to travel the country.

The Friends of Fred Thompson committee has been a leader in using interactive tools to communicate with a fast-growing list of friends and supporters. The new website will build on those tools to create a community of Americans who share Thompson’s vision for America.

The newly revised action center creates more tools for web visitors to show their support for Thompson—tools such as organizing local community events, voter registration information, and ways to share information with friends and supporters.

The website also has a “FredCast” section that will let visitors experience Thompson’s public events and messages. In “Principles,” supporters will be able to hear Thompson speak on a range of issues that make up the core principles that are the foundation of our country.

Thompson is enjoying a broad base of support all across the country. This website will allow even more Americans to learn about his experience and his values and sign up to join this dynamic and groundbreaking effort to urge Thompson to run for president.

Then don't. There's a whole range of candidates, who have (prematurely) announced, to choose from.

If your man doesn’t announce, Ron will get a LOT more votes in the primary.

Have you ever been to Iowa? I lived there from 1974 to 2001 and worked in several campaigns, and Ron Paul won’t do jack squat there, IMHO. But I could be wrong and he could win....

Ron Paul won’t pick the votes up; Duncan Hunter will.

You are not being ‘’strung along’’! Fred is simply waiting long enough in order to get all those donations from people so he may buy another harem of ‘’trophy wives’’!

It’s still ridiculously early in the 08 campaign, that I’m afraid too many people will be just worn out come next summer. Fred’s decision to not announce too early is refreshing.

The best part is, though, that you can support any candidate you wish.
