It doesn't take long for provocateurs to crawl out of the woodwork to attack candidates, especially in stealth attacks. With Fred Thompson, they've apparently started before he officially enters the race -- and in one case, race is the operative word. Apparently hoping to confuse web surfers looking for Fred's website at www.imwithfred.com, a new site has appeared at www.imwithfred2008.com -- only this site welcomes people to the Ku Klux Klan, "Bringing a Message of Hope and Deliverance to White Christian America!" It includes links to a variety of disgusting racist sites.
Who would post something like this as a smear on Fred Thompson? Someone a little too stupid to cover his tracks, possibly? A DNS search gives us an answer...

So why is a Santa Monica attorney and contributor to the Democrats and MoveOn hosting a website with links to the KKK and white supremacists? Perhaps he'll call back with an interesting explanation -- but it looks like he's conducting underhanded smear tactics in his spare time. Will MoveOn and the DNC reject the politics of character assassination and give back the money Reynolds donated?

Yes, but you have been dishonest about why. He writes articles that have no copyright and anyone can reprint them. By your logic, if they reprint or praise the U.S. Declaration of Independence, then all the signers were Nazi Skinheads.
I know Paul eschews them, but the fact they are even interested bothers me...

As to why, well two main ones come to mind:
First he has been the topic of lively and favorable discussion there, that is fact. You guys were complaining about it.
Second, beyond that, it bothers me that group is even interested in Paul. There must be something he or those who support him, are saying they like.
I don’t want to go back to that site to find out what Ron Paul article they posted, but I don’t remember there being anything wrong with what Paul wrote in that article. Do you?
I would have to get the article again. But does it not bother you that the kids over there are even interested enough to expend time on it...
For all I know, they may have a copy of the Declaration of Independence posted over there. It wouldn’t make all the signers skinheads, now would it?

I am going to use my old 2000 back up PC and my spare DSL line, behind my sonicwall firewall with virus scan and also use my web proxy. No telling what crap that site draws from or loads out...
