This is the original film, not the spliced version that FOX showed a month ago
Pong
The Heritage Foundation showed this film (with permission from PBS IIRC) and there’s a video on their website of the Q&A that followed the showing.
I recommend viewing this Q&A , it reveals a lot of information. Plus you’ll learn that even the Producers of the Film themselves have doubts that “moderate Moslems” so-called even exist.. or if they exist , have any influence.

Just more lying to the infidels.
Thank you for your learned opinion
Since the film makers interviewed moderates, like Dr. Jasser and Kabbani and others, and titled the film, “Voices from the Muslim Center” to let people know they exist, I doubt they question the existence of moderates. The number or influence, possibly.
So are you saying I’m lying?
People like you are funny.
I watched a video and told you what they say and then you, who haven’t seen it, think you know better.
Ok, whatever, if you say so.
“So are you saying Im lying?”
No. What I’m saying is, the filmakers made a film titled “VOICES FROM THE MUSLIM CENTER” and interviewed people who represent moderates to let the world know that not all muslims are terrorists. To say that they question whether they exist implies that they weren’t speaking with real people but figments of their imagination?
btw - I have seen most of the film and will watch the rest
Thank you Captain Obvious. I know what the name of the film is.
BTW: I said PRODUCERS of the films.. not the Filmakers (the director, etc)
Subtle difference. And it doesn’t mean there’s a contradiction.
“Moderate Moslems” want to call themselves that.. fine so be it.
The Producer has doubts that Islam, the system, in the grand scheme things has any ability to be influenced by these people.. if it can’t be influenced then the moderates don’t really matter.
Too complex for you?

Wiretap Vote Worries Muslim Americans
Bernie Tafoya Reporting
CHICAGO (WBBM) - There’s criticism today from an American-Islamic group of the way a couple of Illinois Democrats voted in Congress last week on President Bush’s proposal to allow the federal government to more easily wiretap phone calls and e-mails without a judge’s warrant.
WBBM’s Bernie Tafoya has the story.
The two Illinois Democrats are 3rd District Congressman Dan Lipinski and 8th District Congresswoman Melissa Bean.
Ahmed Rehab, executive director of the Chicago chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, was surprised and disappointed with the Lipinski and Bean votes.
Rehab says he’s especially surprised and disappointed in Lipinski “who comes from district that has a lot of Arab and Muslim citizens who may be hurt by this policy being used overzealously.”
Dave McGuire of the Washington-based Center for Democracy and Technology says the Bush administration raised a real concern regarding intercepting foreign communications but that the legislation went too far.
He says some members of Congress may have believed they “had to vote for it since no other alternative was presented.” He says they may have figured it was better to vote for a “bad” anti-terrorism bill than for “no” anti-terrorism bill.
Ahmed Rehab says “Wiretapping I can understand. What I dont understand is the warrantless”.
He says therell be a push in Congress next month to change the law.
Neither Cong. Lipinski nor Cong. Bean responded to requests for interviews.
Dave McGuire of CDT says the law “throws Americans living in U.S. open to the potential of being caught in investigative dragnet with no judicial oversight.”

Lipinski is my rep.
I wrote him a letter about his Iraq vote in the spring here
http://home.comcast.net/~vincep312/congress.html
I”ll have to visit his office while he’s in town to tell him not to cave to CAIR
You are the one who stated that they question whether they exist. Obviously, they DON’T question that. And that’s what I said. Whether you think they matter or not is another issue.
Frank Gafney, the co-executive producer stated himself, that one reason for making the film was to help influence muslims who don’t agree with the wahhabi influenced teachings at the mosques, so obviously they feel there’s a need there. I’m not arguing that.
You’re trying to weasle out of your original statement that the producers question whether they exist. Maybe you’d like to correct that statement?
btw - moderate muslims rarely refer to themselves as moderates. I believe that’s a term non-muslims made up.
CAIR should be shut down
Bump.And thanks.
Go away Liliputian
“I recommend viewing this Q&A , it reveals a lot of information. Plus youll learn that even the Producers of the Film themselves have doubts that moderate Moslems so-called even exist.. “
“This “Liliputian” has finished watching the Q&A.
Never once did I hear doubts that they exist.
btw - Thanks for the link. I always enjoy listening to Kabbani.
Hello from a fellow resident of Crook County.
Yes his dad, William Lipinski is one of the few old-time Chicago Dims left over from the old man Daley era. In 1968 he concurred with the Richard J. Daley policy ordering the police to “shoot to kill” if necessary during the 68 riots.

Attorney, reservist challenges “out of touch” Lipinski

By David H. Montgomery Staff writer
A Chicago attorney is challenging Rep. Dan Lipinski in the Democratic primary for the 3rd Congressional District, saying that Lipinski is “out of touch” with local concerns.
James Capparelli is a private practice attorney and an active member of the U.S. Army Reserve, where he is a battalion commander.
In the Army, Capparelli was an Airborne Ranger and saw action in the 1989 invasion of Panama. He has spent time as a prosecutor in Will County and was the veterans rights deputy bureau chief for Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan.
The incumbent, Lipinski, was a political science professor in Tennessee before becoming a congressman.
Lipinski was chosen by the state Democratic Party to replace his father after the elder Lipinski pulled out of the race following the primary in 2004.
Capparelli argues that he is more connected to the concerns of everyday voters than Lipinski, citing his military service and long background in the district.
On the issues, Capparelli describes himself as “pro-life” and says that he is against gay marriage and civil unions. He said the “surge” in Iraq seems to be working, but that if the Iraqis do not take advantage of the surge to solve their problems, then the United States should look at pulling out.
Capparelli is vocally pro-union. He differs from Lipinski in his opposition to a recent bill expanding federal wiretapping powers. Lipinski voted for the controversial bill.
Palos Hills Mayor Gerald Bennett is also considering challenging Lipinski in the February 2008 primary.
