Because gun violence is worse than all other kinds of violence. The victims suffer more when they’re shot than when they’re beaten to death, or stabbed, or run over by cars.

I was in the USAF and stationed near Omaha (Elkhorn actually) in the late 80’s. I distinctly remember North Omaha having gang issues back then. Its probably worse now, but its not an new problem.

Maybe it’s time for your local city attorney to start filing some gang injunctions and your legislators to add some gang enhancements to your state penal code, if absent. My family was once from Omaha, and it was a nice, safe town back then, someplace I would have wanted to raise kids. Now, I hear it’s full of LA gang imtators or exiles, moving on to bigger and better areas in which to be the very best thugs they can be.

Night and day. It's like comparing West Side Story to MS-13.

In other words, its worse now. Waaaayyyy worse.

West Side Story?? I would have prefered The Warriors as an analogy, but I get the point. ;-)

I am sure the majority of these shootings involve American citizens in Northeast Omaha. “African” American citizens that is.

When I moved here in the early 90s, we had no gangs here. Now they are running amok. Illegals are everywhere. Drugs are another big factor. Drive bys and acts of violence like this are increasing by the day. Many younger people don’t value human life.

And America expected what from the NEA and the American educational system?

To teach math, science, reading, writing, and the pride and dignity of the values of Western civilization and America’s stunning achievements in the world?

Nope. Its all multicultural diversity training and the loving embrace of every perverted and disgusting habit of man.

Sorry, students haven’t gone through twelve years of public school for nothing.

They’ve learned one thing and perhaps only one thing during those twelve years.
They’ve forgotten their algebra, they’ve grown to fear and resent literature, they write like they’ve been lobotomized, but Jesus, can they follow orders!

Students don’t ask that orders make sense because they gave up expecting things to make sense long before they left elementary school.

Things are true because the teacher says they’re true. Outside class, things are true to your tongue, your fingers, your stomach, your heart.
Inside class, things are true by reason of authority, and that’s just fine because you don’t care anyway.
Miss Wiedemeyer tells you a noun is a person, place or thing, so let it be.
You don’t give a rat’s ass; she doesn’t give a rat’s ass.

The only important thing is to please her, and that lesson follows right through College. - cooperate and graduate as your professors tear down everthing good and noble in American history to replace it with their "agenda for change."
Back in kindergarten, you found out that teachers only love children who stand in nice straight lines.
And that’s where it’s been at ever since.
Nothing changes except to get worse, as those students now vote as they are ordered to vote, and believe what the MSM tells them to believe.

The Matrix is here.

A great job of ruining America by the NEA and the public education system.

And the reason for the increase in violent crime is?

I don't read the Weird-Herald so I can only guess it has something to do with the temperatures and large numbers of "undocumented workers."

Any American citizens involved here?

Always an important question in Omaha!

Thanks for your info about the anti-gun mayor list. I’m not surprised about Fahey as he is a liberal Dem.

He’s known for squirrelly ideas. When elected he promised no more potholes. His solution, don’t plow the snow; just use salt. Worked great the first year of office as there was little snow. Not so well after that!

If I’m not mistaken, Omaha requires its citizens to get a city permit before they can buy a handgun.

Yes , there are fools from both parties in this anti-freedom group. It’s important for people to know if their mayor is part of Doomberg’s anti-gun goon squad .

The state requires citizens to get a permit to buy handguns. If one lives in Douglas County (Omaha Metro) then one has to buy the gun, take the sales reciept to the Omaha PD and get it approved, then one takes the sales reciept back to the dealer and picks up one’s gun. The theory being that all the handguns kept in the city proper will be registered.

Theoretically the buy permit tells the dealers that a back ground check has been done.

I agree. Fahey has been a embarssment for the city of Omaha in the last few years and come 2009 the citizens of Omaha need to throw his incompetent butt out.
