HOUSTON – A 15-year-old boy who slammed a stolen car into a freight train parked at a railroad crossing has been charged with murder in the deaths of four passengers.

Bobby Davis of Baytown was booked into a juvenile detention center Thursday and is scheduled for a Friday detention hearing. His family's attorney, Richard "Racehorse" Haynes, couldn't be reached for comment Thursday, but previously pointed to the train as the problem.

Gotta love this gem from the story... "The stolen vehicle didn't contribute to the crash, collision and the deaths. What contributed was the fact there was an unmarked, unlighted crossing with a train parked there for 34 minutes," Mr. Haynes said."

Hey Racehorse... maybe the thug 15-year-old thief is responsible for "the crash, collision and the deaths?"

A perfect example for the need for tort reform.

This one is one Racehorce is going to regret touching

Stolen car, Kids dead

What contributed to the crash was the “driver’ who “stole” the vehicle and invited his friends to the graveyard

"The stolen vehicle didn't contribute to the crash, collision and the deaths. What contributed was the fact there was an unmarked, unlighted crossing with a train parked there for 34 minutes"

This reminds me of a story from Saudi Arabia, back in the late 70's, where a Saudi taxi driver crashed into a wall and blamed the American company, behind the wall, as Allah had not built the wall, therefore, the American company was responsible for the crash, as if there was no wall there would have been no crash.

It makes my question how we will ever get these disputes resolved. It is like, as the English say, the difference between chalk and cheese. We will never reconcile. Just what do we do, short of an H-Bomb?

Except that this is a criminal matter.

Parents who allow 12, 14 and 15 year olds out at 4am need to be charges as accessories too. Likely no man in any of these families.......sperm donors and then gone at daylight.

As long as there are trains that jump the tracks to seek out car thieves and they don't have therapy offered to them, these problems will continue to plague society.

And the railroad will be found guilty because they have the deepest pockets.

Re: "Except that this is a criminal matter."

Apologies... I'm not a lawer, nor do I play one on tv ;-)

... so hopefully, should the train company be found not guilty, the sure-to-be filed civil case leads to $0.00 ever awarded to the families of the dead.

If my car hits another car, I am at fault. Not a parked vehicle or one that was in an intersection before me........

“unmarked, unlighted crossing with a train parked there for 34 minutes,”

Yeah, this is weird. I always thought it was those big white ‘x’ signs and flashing red lights that attack trains! This train was obviously lost.
