Please check out Phsstpok’s EXCELLENT Sunday Talk Show PRE-Thread. It’s a great way to hear analysis on why the DBM picks the guests, what they’ll probably discuss, and other pertinent facts. Also, check out his blog!

Eight years ago Russert had on the GOP candidates following the straw poll. Eight years later he has on Harold Ford, Jr. and Markos?

Harold Ford & Markos Moulitsas on MTP. Nothing like a good Dim squabble to get the day started right. Let’s see if Timmie plays it up or tries to smooth it over.

Funny how fat Dim has on these two democrats this morning; I think that republicans are fed up with fat dim and his liberal bias. Why even go on with him, his show is nothing but a left wing looney gathering. He has given up any pretense of honesty and fairness. He is NBC...and as we all know, MSNBC/NBC is the channel of hate speech and lies.

PS: Don’t forget: Fat Dim filed a false affidavit in the Scooter Libby trial and has still not been asked a single question about it.

Now that Russert has moved so far to the Left, do you suppose he’ll use his scowly face and scrunched over stance on Ford? I mean, as no Conservative is available and Kos is the darling, at least he can use his “perfected” body language on someone!!!!

Yes, Mr. Russert must believe he is covering the entire political spectrum by having these two people debate. Or at least the entire spectrum visible from where he stands on the spectrum.

Thanks, AB & Good Morning to EveryOne! Thanks also to MNJohnnie, Phsstpok, snugs. Today I am taking off, I will read all your posts tomorrow.

Now, here 's this sunday's Media Nuggets

###### Greenhouse gases again NYTimes' reporter Linda Greenhouse that is. NYT's Greenhouse demands that C-SPAN turn off its cameras. Linda Greenhouse isn't a fan of "meta-coverage," i.e., coverage of her coverage of the Court.

###### Wash.Post becomes Trash Post! "President Bush came to office after the so-called "Seinfeld" election -- the mindless campaign of 2000, a race filled with chatter but fundamentally about nothing, like the hit television show.", says Anne E. Kornblut. They live in their own Fool's paradise, which is why it's circulation halved to half of what it was in 2000.

###### Gray Lady Freaks Out! NYTimes has concluded this is a battle it can't win and is emphasizing sensationalism instead, so as to avoid losing further ground to the New York Post.

###### Atleast, they admit! ->Confessions of a BBC liberal. The BBC has finally come clean about its bias. US media anyone?

###### Rest in Peace! -> NYTimes' Times Select.

###### 3 terrible news anchors! -> Rick Sanchez, Tony Harris (CNN) & Ann Curry (NBC).

###### Casualties @ Broadcasting & Cable! -> Editor Max Robins, LA bureau chief Jim Benson.

###### Casualties @ Orange County Register! ->20 to 35 employees' Jobs.

###### MSM - Why Do We Suck? "Political Journalists" get educated @ kosCONvention. (That 's not joke.)

###### Miami Herald reporter arrested! -> for soliciting sex in an undercover sting operation.

###### NY Times to Host Freakonomics Blog.

###### Associated Press' latest discovery! -> President Bush Is Supported by His Supporters - conservative, white, Republican , evangelical Christian who goes to church regularly. AP would not say that only people who still approve of the Democratic Congress are Democrats.

###### The Liberal Media Hall of Shame! exposed by a registered Democrat/liberal!

###### As if we didn't know! US public sees news as biased, inaccurate, uncaring.

B u z z ......

*** Murdock backlash? -> Roll Call 's Susan Davis joins the Wall Street Journal, where she will become its lead reporter for the Washington Wire Blog, replacing NBC liberal John Harwood.

*** On Thursday, August 16th at 9pm ET Fox will air "1/2 Hour News Hour" special, cutting short Hannity & Colmes to half hour.

*** Blogress Megan McArdle is jumping to "The Atlantic" from "The Economist".

*** First Lady Laura Bush and daughter Jenna Bush writing a Children's Book for HarperCollins. Laura and Jenna are former teachers and the book is loosely based on their experiences. The net proceeds -- and a portion of the publisher's proceeds -- will benefit Teach for American and the New Teacher Project.

*** Aaron Brown will join Arizona State University's Journalism School.

See U all next week!

I'm a bit overwhelmed... to say the least.

But I do have this picture in my head of Wile E. Coyote with a business card in his hand...

http://www.karlscalculus.org/coyoteq.gif

which I'll try to keep reminding myself of if I get too big a swelled head

Seriously, thank you very much

For years the question that caused Russert the reddest, most scrunched-up face was “what are you going to do about sosh’ security.” Has he given up on that question, or does he still harp on it? I haven’t watched him since he began to sound like a broken record every Sunday.

Congratulations to the ribbon winners. Your comments are eagerly anticipated every week.

What a reversal of cspan format: First caller to dem and gop party chairmen of Iowa was a democrat (Southern accented) who does not like any of the candidates and worries about what will happen if a dem should win.

Second caller is a republican who attacks Hillary’s history.

I think this is about bringing Kos down a peg and starting to shift Hillary towards the center.  I think Team Hillary think they've got the nomination sewn up already and are scared that they're getting painted into a looney left corner by folks like the Kossacks.  Remember, Lil Timmah is a card carrying member of Team Hillary and has been carrying the water for her this season.

This is about trying to reassure the great unwashed out there that the Dhimmicrats, at least the ones at the front of the pack, aren't all a bunch of nuts in total thrall to the moonbats.  They are, but they can't let the "moderates" and "independents" think that.  They at least have to give them plausible deniability.  Harold Ford Jr. and the DLC will be prominently featured by the dinosaur media from here on out, and really picking up after the orgy of primaries in January and February.

I commented about timmy's remark about "Mistakes being made" - about his guest selection the past few years. I guess he doesn't have anyone reading the Sunday Show thread to monitor our comments.

Having Harold Ford Jr the Kos commie, makes the previous selections irrevelant as being mistakes. He's in a hole and just keeps on digging.

Your nuggets are fantastic. This one made me laugh.

Wash.Post becomes Trash Post! "President Bush came to office after the so-called "Seinfeld" election -- the mindless campaign of 2000, a race filled with chatter but fundamentally about nothing, like the hit television show.", says Anne E. Kornblut.

I remember the coverage of that campaign like it was yesterday. The reporters following W tried to do it with their fingers in their ears, saying "lalalala, I can't hear you." No wonder this writer's perception is that the election was about 'nothing.'
