"Well there IS that little Presumption thing."

Said Vick: "I presume I'm innocent until I plead guilty."

Hey, he can always play with an ankle monitor. Do his workouts during the week, then report to the halfway house at night.

I hope you’re right, I for one do not ever want him to play in MY town again (ATL). If he gets a year suspension though he will surely wind up somewhere else pronto.

I though he didn't do anything wrong?

Roger Goodell has already shown that he doesn't kid around. If he pleads guilty to a felony, at an absolute minimum he gets suspended for the entire season, and there's a good chance that his career is over.

The real question is whether the Falcons will be able to get out of the remainder of their contract.

You can’t resent that. You’re supposed to be in New Jersey!

The real question is whether the Falcons will be able to get out of the remainder of their contract

When the League suspends Vick he will owe the Falcons $28 million of the $ 37 million signing bonus they paid him.

They also will be able to cut vick at that time, just like they could now.

Also remember if the Falcons do cut Vick after he is suspended by the league he will not begin serving that suspension until AFTER he is signed by another team.

“Today in court I pleaded innocent to the allegations made against me.”Today in court I pleaded innocent to the allegations made against me.”

He entered an innocent plea in court. (Plead guilty?) Much different than declaring his innocence in an open forum.
Might be parsing words but it is what it is.

Roger Cossak (CNN Legal Expert) just said on the “John Riggins” show that if Vick did not take the deal, a conviction could me a loooong prison sentance.

A deal will give him 18 -24 months.

Repeat: Eighteen to twenty-four months in a federal prison

Only because you now it is true :)

A week ago I would have been able to say the Rooneys would never take on a guy like this, but after the whole Steely McBeam thing, I am not sure anything is safe.

Out of jail after 1 year then 3 years in the Canadian Football League ala Lawrence Phillips is my guess in the pool.

Vick to the Stillers?

You need a trip to the “Original” to get your mind right.

Suffice it to say that 18-24 months = his NFL career is over. Nobody would ever touch him after that.

As far as all that signing bonus money goes, good luck to the Falcons in recovering that. I'll bet he spends money like a typical athlete and doesn't have that much in the bank, and whatever he does have the lawyers will be sure to get first dibs on. :)

Phillips: NFL - 4 years, three teams, 1450 yards
CFL - 2 years, three teams, 1500 yards

On October 10, 2006, Phillips was found guilty of seven counts of assault with a deadly weapon. He faces up to 20 years in state prison.

One of Tom Osborne’s fine products.

It seems important to mention, also, that the NFL has a new Commissioner who doesn’t seem keen on taking any of this crap. I hope he gets jail time, but I truly hope he gets booted for at least a year and that his NFL reputation is destroyed. That will hurt him more, IMO. I also hope and pray that this will stop ESPN from acting like he is a god, no matter how crappy he is. I doubt it on that last part though.
