Republican presidential candidate Duncan Hunter will stop in Tyler for a brief meet-and-greet visit at 2 p.m. Thursday. The California congressman will be at the Smith County Republican Partys new headquarters at 3923 S. Broadway Ave. in the Broadway Plaza Shopping Center.
Hunter, 59, has served in Congress for 14 terms. Hes a Vietnam veteran. Much of his campaign has focused on immigration issues.
The cornerstone of our responsibilities as elected officials is to defend and protect the American people, Hunter says. This was reinforced with the attacks of Sept. 11, which immediately made border security a national security issue. Protecting our homeland begins at our nations borders and it is imperative that our border enforcement agencies be provided with the necessary resources to ensure that we know both who and what are entering the country.

Hey, Hunter needs to come up to Conservative Adams County, Pennsylvania, (location of the Gettysburg National Military Park) and meet the folks up here. It’s about an hour’s drive north of DC, at least before and after the morning and evening rush hours:)

I love Hunter. Too bad he laid a huge egg in Iowa.
He should get back in the race for his house seat while there is still time. We need him in there.

LOL! Like a broken record! Stick around and see what happens in the coming months.

..Greyhound, you must not have heard his comments during and after the Straw Poll--he was only in the state for a WEEK. Some of those guys have been there for months and pouring millions of dollars into their efforts.
As he said--this campaign has only begun...

Ok, I thought he was from Tyler but I knew the company had always been there all my life.
I think Nick may be dead now but he is a nice guy and I’ve talked to him several times on the phone when I was in the sporting goods business many years ago.
The original creame wiggle worm came in only one size and color, 8”/ black. And the first ones didn’t float like the ones today.

A golden egg, at that. He was given time on TV to say his say without rude interruption, and the people out here with cable heard him! The response for funding and additional supporters has been phenomenal just on FR! I have found that bringing him into a conversation makes the eyes of the beholder light up! People are starving for a candidate like Duncan Hunter, and the word is getting out.
The first shall be last, and the last first!

Why, thank you, upsdriver. Your words do this old heart good this morning. :) And it the fight is much easier with people like you in it. God bless.
I think Tyler lies in the Eastern part of the state, and it gets hot with mosquitoes, because he contracted malaria while there.

Duncan is my guy. I’m pulling for him. But seriously, he doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of winning the Presidency (he is a loooong shot for the nomination even).
A guy like Duncan is going to be a hard sell in a nation that no longer believes that we are really at war. We may love Hunter around here, but the average American voter prefers someone a little more warm and fuzzy (unfortunately).
With that said...I hope he is able to step it up and prove me wrong.
To: Retired Greyhound
..if he really were your guy, you have would a different attitude IMO—but stay tuned...

Cmon Anna, Ill chip in for your gas and beer as long as you write a full report. :o)And normally I would, trust me. (I've logged over 4000 miles in the past month alone...)
That said, I signed on as team mom for my son's Pop Warner Jr. Pee Wee team, and it's certification week. I just can't do it.

You got that right and is one of the reasons I think he would draw more Dems and independents than any other candidate.
