I don’t plan to remodel my home anything soon. It seems like a Costco for home remodeling and interior decorating.

Because no Freedom of Information Act request will be effective in having Hillary’s first lady documents released until after the next election, perhaps we can get some help for someone with a certain expertise in acquiring documents. That person would, of course, be Sandy Berger.

The following appeal of help was sent today via facsimile to Berger at his office at 202.637.8615.

Dear Mr. Berger:

I write with a great deal of concern over reports I’ve received regarding the Clinton Library sealing documents of Senator Hillary Clinton while she was First Lady. Apparently, the documents are going to be embargoed through at least November of 2008.

Though I have not been provided with a copy of the embargoed list, I understand that there are a number of documents that the public deserves to see before they vote in November of 2008.

I am especially troubled by the secrecy involved in the effort by Senator Clinton to prevent full disclosure during the campaign.

This subject might be a little touchy for you, but I feel that it is really important that I ask a favor of you and that you will give it serious consideration.

Do you think you could take the time to go to the Clinton Library to review all of the documents? If you are able to fit that into your schedule, we will trust your judgment in determining which are most important for the American people to see before the next presidential election.

Because I doubt that the security will be as intense as at the National Archives, I am hoping that you will be able to stuff them into your pants, take them out of the building, and leave them under a travel trailer near the site. I will provide the location of the travel trailer when I hear from you that you will be able to perform this act of patriotism.

Thank you very much for your help

Respectfully,

(signed DFU)

PS If you discover that the volume of documents is greater than anticipated, I will be pleased to provide you with a larger pair of trousers for the operation.
