One of my biggest pet peeves about liberal interviewers is their habit of throwing out an accusation as a statement of fact and then moving onto the next question like nothing had happened. I have always wondered why more Republicans don't say what Mitt told Beckel here. Thank heaven someone finally called a liberal on that underhanded tactic! And, Mitt's response was so effective that, after the break, Beckel agrees with Mitt that Obama probably wishes he had his words about Afghanistan back. No apology of course, because, being a liberal means never having to say you're sorry.
Another line I enjoyed from the interview...
HANNITY: There was some criticism of your victory that he worked too hard, he invested time, effort money and he was successful. But it is only because he put the time and money, and I actually found that pretty comical.
I've been listening and reading the accusations of "Romney Bought the Straw Poll" and just have to laugh like Sean apparently did. What do you people think a straw poll is? It's all about organizational strength, building momentum, and fundraising. All of that cost's money. Straw polls have always been that way so, to feign shock that money was involved is just plain funny right there, I don't care who y' are.
Beckell is not so much a liberal but more of a democrat party hack. I remember that Fox had him sit in on a Saturday morning finance show (God knows why) and when he started doing his political spin Wayne Rodgers kicked his ass and called him a moron. Beckell looked like he had his feelings hurt.
The simple fact is Romney is running a very good campaign, and seems to be getting better, while others like Guiliani have ‘flattened out’...or imploded like McCain or the tinfoil sets’ hero Ron Paul.
This is a three person race, and I suspect that after the first two primaries it will be a two person race, maybe even ‘over’ for all intents and purposes.
We’ll see.

I agree with you about your pet peeve. I have another one - Republicans who back down and say I’m not saying their unpatriotic. It’s time to stand up. For once, I would like to see one of these people stand up and say, you see this picture of these people carrying the sign saying WE WILL SUPPORT THE TROOPS WHEN THEY TURN AROUND AND SHOOT THEIR OFFICERS! To date, not one Dem has comdemed that sign. In essence, they agree with it. Now Bob, is that patriotic?
Mitt delivered a slap down to Bob “Hooker Afficianado” Beckel? I knew I liked Romney for a reason.
“BECKEL: Governor, you’re very good at parsing words.”
Bob, you’re in a battle of wits and you forgot to bring your weapons. There was no word parsing going on, he said plain and simple exactly what he mean’t. Another point for Romney in my book.
ROMNEY to Beckel: “You must not be going to my meetings, because every single speech I give that I can think of, every one of my — we call them “Ask Mitt Anything” town halls, I talk about my health care plan, which is a way to get people in this country insured without expanding government programs, without expanding Medicaid, but instead helping people get private market-based insurance.
“So it’s one of the things I’m most proud of. And I hope I get a chance to debate Hillary Clinton on the very topic because when I’m asked what the biggest difference is between my plan and her plan, I’ll say that mine got passed.”
I am tellin’ ya - I can’t wait for Mitt to debate Hill on health care!!!!!!!!!!!!
Romney has massive political talent, which will continue to tell as the months unfold.
