If Republicans in the U.S. Congress had acted like this, on fiscal matters, when they had the majority, we might still hold at least one house of Congress.

Kudos to California legislature’s Republican Senators.

Talk about an endangered species...conservative Republicans in CA! If we had had men like these in D.C. the past eight years, they’d still be in the majority in Congress.
By the way, a big “I told you so” from FReepers who said Ahhnold would turn out to be a flop as Governator.

CAPTION: State Senate minority leader Dick Ackerman (R-Irvine), left, and Sen. Dave Cogdill (R-Modesto) chat as Sen. Bob Dutton (R-Rancho Cucamonga) follows debate on the budget Aug. 1. (Robert Durell / LAT)

That's Dennis Hollingsworth, not Dave Cogdill.

The scary part is that there is only a single vote separating the common decency of fiscal sanity and the swirling toilet of socialist tyranny.
