If Republicans in the U.S. Congress had acted like this, on fiscal matters, when they had the majority, we might still hold at least one house of Congress.

This story has revealed a few things: conservatives are NOT legitimate in liberal eyes and they live in places few liberals bother to go - the hayseed hick places of Flyover Country. And for the Left, affluence goes well with the expectations of urban life, while for the Right, the demands of rural existence call for self reliance and economy of outlook. This brings us to the MSM's bias: the overwhelming majority of journalists are urban liberals who view a rural conservative as a sort of exotic species at best and most of the time as a pest who gets in the way of the liberal agenda. That's the background to California's lengthy budget stalemate and the media reporting on it.

I think the CA GOP has turned the corner here. McClintock is receiving praise from a lot of swing and independent voters in CA. People are waking up and realizing the truth.
