BENTONVILLE, Ark. A man accused of shooting and paralyzing his daughter's boyfriend has been charged with first-degree battery and a terroristic act.

When stuff like this is called terrorism, the word loses its meaning. When terrorism loses its meaning, the resolve to fight it is weakened.
God help us when terrorism jumps the shark.

Saw this story posted awhile back. A lot of FReepers thought the guy over reacted. Far as I’m concerned if you enter a man’s house without his permission (and you know you don’t have permission if you’re hiding in the closet) your @$$ belongs to the home owner. Even if his daughter invited you in.

Overreact much, dad?
I hope this jerk gets a LONG time in the clink for paralyzing this kid.

True, at least a month.
Perhaps ... FOX just posted it tonight and I did a search and didn’t see it posted on FR. Maybe it’s becoming a common Dad defensive move?

When stuff like this is called terrorism, the word loses its meaning. When terrorism loses its meaning, the resolve to fight it is weakened. This angers me too. It's becoming commonplace where I live that people ivolved in misc. disputes are being charged with making terroristic threats. This is pure B.S.

so its okay that he shoots blindly thru a door with a high probability of hitting his own dtr?...
but a guess a "man's got to do what a man's got to do" no matter who he kills or maims....just like the Muslim fanatics...

Terms like terroristic acts and terroristic threats have been part of the criminam law cince decades, if not centuries, before the WOT. No one is “calling this terrorism.” It’s just a coincidental similarity of language.
To: gcruse
I am betting this was called a terroristic act far before we had mideast terrorism, just a guess though.
