The latest battle of religion in the public square is unfolding in Dearborn, Michigan, a city with one of the highest Muslim populations in the country. At the University of Michigan's local campus, administrators have recently refitted several school bathrooms to include small footbaths in the corner--an accommodation for Muslim students who must perform ritual washing as part of their daily observance. The issue has more than a few of the usual suspects trying to explain their way out of their usual positions on the separation of church and state.
The Detroit chapter of the ACLU has scrambled to find a way to recuse itself from the matter, claiming that the footbaths qualify as secular since they could be used by non-Muslims, and therefore don't cross the group's usual bright church-state line. Further, the ACLU explains, the university's decision to take on the $25,000 expense was motivated primarily "by health and safety" because some students didn't like washing their hands in the sinks after others students had washed their feet. If that hadn't been the case, the group says this religious accommodation would surely have merited greater investigation and criticism.

"Hey Bubba, look at these new funny urinals they got in here!"
Toss a little pork and bacon in these footbaths....
***”Hey Bubba, look at these new funny urinals they got in here!”***
Urinal is right!
It reminds me of when the students at our high school took care of the entire facility. For a time, I was one of the janitors (we called it "Paid Work Crew," for $1.65 an hour). Well, it wasn't me, but you see, the school still used that yellow soap...
“Dearborn, Michigan, a city with one of the highest Muslim”
What is the un-employment rate of muslim countries vs this arm pit area of Michigan? Have they destroyed it like their own lands?
Well, hey, how about you just don't wash your feet in the sink????
That and other things.
Scumbag athiest Democrat ACLU hypocrisy BUMP!
this is like the ACLU saying Nativity scenes are religious at Christmas but Menorah displays are just history of the time period.
(ie a scene depicting christs birth on his birth day is not a historical reference.)
Check this out...
Well, Bush says it’s “a religion of piss”
You’ve REALLY got to wonder whether there are Swiss bank accounts accessed by these ACLU lawyers which are regularly topped up by either the Iranians or the Saudis. They must be on the Muzzie payroll, it defies any other explanation. For instance, I’ve never seen a bouncer guarding a church door requesting Catholic membership cards. Aren’t these secular institutions also using ACLU “logic”?
One would hope that they didn’t have a sign saying Muslims Only” and that anyone could wash their feet in the foot bath.
“Whoops, just dropped my koran into it. Just slid out of my hand like a greased pig.”
I've covered this story from numerous different angles. A great place to start reading would be here - and enjoy the video as well.
It’s only right that the vertically challenged will have such a convenience in which to micturate..Allahu fubar!

You might find the perspective of an American overseas living in a Muslim majority country interesting.
These "foot basins" exist here as well, but they are in a mosque where they rightfully belong.
Weren’t the Muslim students complaining about falling on their butts while washing their feet in the sinks? That would be a funny sight to see, LOL
Which is worse?:
1.Paying for the foot baths
2. Everyone having to wash their hands where other people wash their feet plus dealing with the additional germs spread because no one wants to wash their hands.
Hard to say.
On a related note, when the new library was built in Seattle, a newspaper article quoted (non-Muslim) homeless people who were saying that the new library bathroom sinks would be a great place for them to wash their feet.
I guess the urinal works for females and transvesties also......snicker
They don’t need new footbaths...They already have footbaths in the restrooms...One flush and they’re clean...
It was the "Flush Twice-It's a Long Way To Mecca" stickers someone put on them that must have set them off, huh?
Could be worse. Imagine if you were required to wash your privates rather than your feet. On second thought, dont.
The sad thing is we have to fight these idiots in our own country. They are making every attempt with the help of the ACLU to eat away at the foundation that makes this country great! WE BETTER WAKE UP!
Hopefully, one of these days, we will be able to see the funding from the Opecker thugs to the ACLU which has set up America a playground for Islamofascist thugs.
If a free Iraq survives all of the bs, the ACLU execs just might find themselves whisked away to Iraq to be tried for war crimes against innocent Iraqis.
Most large buildings have the necessary facilities already in place. It's called a "janitor closet". Inside is a handy device called a service sink. It's where mops are cleaned, and washbuckets emptied. It looks a lot like a mooslim footbath, and is very handy for janitors, too. It's also a whole lot cheaper than a gold-plated footbath.
So the logic is this, “non-muslims can use the footbaths too.”
But prayer in school or freedom to not pray in school is prohibited.
Am I missing something again?
Then there would be “pork sniffing dogs” and anyone with a BLT would be prosecuted for a hate crime. *Sigh*
I was actually thinking about washing a hog in it.
They call hate crime.
Then I will ask them how they feel that nearly all the vegetation in the US is aided by pig and cow manure.
Given that so many aclu lawyers are Jewish, this raises the term “useful idiot” to a new level.
bump to the top for ACLU hypocrisy.
This began with the prayer stations in Giants Stadium. This is a slippery slope. The funny thing is these Muslims are going to cut the throats of the fruity lawyers in the ACLU first.
Let us stop acting as if these people beliefs coincided with our 21st century society. Enough. We as a society are allowing people to rip the Crosses off War Memorials and put footbaths in bathrooms. If I see a footbath, I will treat it like a urinal.
