” I see him as ultimately electable.”

” ... no conservative worth that label should enable such a thing.”

Now, if I were debating like you, I’d say that you were voicing opposition to the defeat of Hillary.
After all, it will be a Romney v Hillary matchup should it come to that.

Newt shouldn’t be included...it really distorts the numbers. He’s already said he’ll likely not join the race.

A few points lead over Thompson with only 22% support yourself is insignificant. Mostly, it’s insignificant because they’ve not even started accumulating delegates yet. Secondly, because 22% of them won’t win someone the nomination.

““Ultra-liberal”? Get real.”

“You need to dig a little deeper.”

Yeah, and grab a pitchfork. EV’s manure piles on Romney take a lot of digging.

“If Romney wasn’t ultra-liberal as Governor of MA, no one anywhere qualifies for that title.”
Our conservative Republican governor in Texas Rick Perry is more liberal than Romney on immigration, taxes, and spending. Go figure.

I hope you’re right.

Three main reasons Romney won't win

1) Romney believes in gun control/stretches truth about hunting

2) Romney flip-flopped on pro-life

unionleader.com/article<-- who can believe him?

3) Tax and Spend

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2007/06/mccain_camp_hit.html

Excerpt:

McCain spokesman Matt David tells ABC News that during Romney's term as governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the state saw a significant increase in spending.

"What Governor Romney's tv ad fails to mention is that spending increased by 27 percent and taxes and fees increased by $700 million per year during his tenure in Massachusetts," David said.

"This ad demonstrates his willingness to say and do anything in an effort to win the nomination."

Mitt does kinda remind me of the "Biff Tannen" character in "Back to the Future," the guy who was always getting a load of manure dumped on his head.

"Biff Romney." Works for me...

After all, it will be a Romney v Hillary matchup should it come to that.

If the choice is between two extreme liberals, it will be your fault, not mine.

For the umpteenth time, EV, we have 10 credible Republican candidates. Your bashing of electable conservatives as ‘liberals’ aside, if you don’t like any 9 of the 10 TELL US WHO THE BETTER OPTION IS. We are going to have to beat Hillary with the GOP candidate that we have, not the perfect-to-us candidate we wish to have .

What currently-running real Republican candidate do you propose supporting to defeat Hillary in 2008 and govern conservatively as our next President? NAME HIM.

“McCain spokesman Matt David “

LOL, there’s an unbiased source about McCain’s opponent.

What’s funny is that if you read Club for Growth review of McCain, they skewered him on his attacks on economic freedom, even though McCain is something of a porkbuster.

“Governor Romney came into office facing a $3 billion deficit and an economy that was losing jobs, and he wiped away that deficit without raising taxes. When his tenure was finished the state economy was creating jobs.”
