I know what you mean here, but I tend to think of it this way:
It's the Holy Spirit that finally teaches us the Truth, so that we CAN say "Jesus is Lord!" from a thankful heart*; rather that how many will say in those last days "Jesus is lord.", from a realization that they HAD a chance to accept, and they blew it.
John 6:44-45
44. "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.
45. It is written in the Prophets: `They will all be taught by God.' Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him comes to me.
Ah... you must remember Ross Perot!
I post it a LOT, and no LDS organization member seems to say that it's NOT still valid in their thinking.
I guess the question MIGHT be:
“If Romney IS elected to the Presidency of the United States; will he have any PRESBYTERIANS in his administration?”
Here’s an interesting quote I came across, it reminds me of some of the statements I’ve seen in defense of Romney....
Statement of Joseph Smith:
I see no faults in the Church, and therefore let me be resurrected with the Saints, whether I ascend to heaven or descend to hell, or go to any other place. And if we go to hell, well turn the devils out of doors and make a heaven of it. Where this people are, there is good society. What do we care where were, if the society be good?
