The huge problem with Romney being a Mormon is that almost all Christian Conservatives who are familiar with Mormon doctrine will NEVER vote for a Mormon regardless of how well he/she can deliver a speech. Of course this is simply my opinion.
I wouldn’t necessarily constrain that to “Christian Conservatives”. ANY Christian who took a good, deep look at the foundations and doctrine of the Mormon church would walk away wondering why this cult is given any creedence whatsoever in the minds of intelligent, thinking people.
I dont think you could be more wrong.
I’m a Christian Conservative and would vote for a Mormon before I voted for a pro-gay, pro-gun control, pro-abortion, Republican candidate.
And yes, I’m VERY well acquainted with the Mormon faith.
Well, there are “Christian” Conservative bigots, too, you know.
I am a Christian Conservative and don't care about Romney's Mormonism. I don't care about Rudy's Catholicism either.
What I care about is their positions on the issues and how they have behaved in the past to prove they actually hold the positions they claim to hold.

You know, I don’t know conservative Christians in real life who express that opinion, I only see it on the net.
I wonder if they feel the same way about Jews and Catholics.
Do the polling companies and political scientists who study these things make a differentiation between Christian Conservatives and Mormon Conservatives? If not, then when someone talks about Christian Conservatives in a political sense, they're including Mormon Conservatives.
How this would affect support for Romney is unclear.
“almost all Christian Conservatives who are familiar with Mormon doctrine will NEVER vote for a Mormon regardless of how well he/she can deliver a speech.”
I am a Christian Conservative and I believe that the Mormon faith is ridculous on it’s face. I mean the guy looked in a HAT? Their religion is based on a badly done con game?
HOWEVER; we are not choosing a national religion. We are picking a President. My vote for Mitt or anyone else will be based on what I believe that persons’ abilities to lead are, not what religion they believe in, no matter how wacky I personally believe it to be.
