Will U.S. voters elect a woman as president?
Seattle Times ^ | August 21, 2007 | Matt Stearns

DES MOINES, Iowa — A pair of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's worst nightmares trudged past a giant blue "Hillary for President" sign outside the Iowa State Fair with palpable disgust.

"Hillary can go to hell," said Alice Aszman, 66, a Democrat from Ottumwa. "I'll never vote for her. I don't think a woman should be president. I think a man should. They've got more authority."

Her husband, Daniel, 50, also a Democrat, agreed: "I think women should stay home instead of being boss."

That's not what Clinton wants to hear from voters like the Aszmans, who described themselves as "working class." But there's also no question that, even as Clinton, the New York Democrat, widens her lead in national polls of Democratic voters, becoming the first woman president won't be easy.

For the dim-0-crats this is a tough choice:

1) With the GOP having committed suicide losing control of the Congress, and

2) Dubya fading ...

the dims ... want the White House very badly.

Tubba probably sees 2008 as her only/best shot as Prez ... because:

1) Should another dim get the nomination and win ... assume an eight year run as Prez - Tubba becomes too old and Bubba becomes more feeble,

2) Should Tubba get the nomination ... and lose - the "little" people will have spoken loudly about dims.

So ... an interesting dynamic ... is the devil you know better than the one you don't?

Look, the liberal media can go out and find neanderthals, who'll say, 'they'll never vote for a woman', but voters don't vote for "a man" or "a woman", the vote for specific individuals. The question is whether Hillary can overcome her 48% negative rating among voters. Dick Morris believes she can by bringing in millions of new voters, ie single women, who'll vote for her.

The questions is what kind of candidate will Hillary Clinton make, not some generic "woman".

Particularly when those Neaderthals work for the Hillary! campaign. Or do you think the Aszmann's just happened to be walking by?

I've been saying for a couple of years now, "I believe America is really ready for a female President. That's why I could never vote for Hillary."

The double takes are priceless.

Is there a woman running?

No. The democrats are running a socialist mohammedan, a socialist airhead, and a socialist hildebeeste.

Probably a planted story by the Hillary campaign. Hillary the victim and champion of women’s rights play better. She hopes that women vote for her because, “I’m your girl.”

based on the anecdote here I predict more “older woman younger man” stories in the near future to condition the newpaper reading rubes.

Is Hillary really a woman?
I think we need a DNA test to prove it.
I swear she has a huge adams apple!

Although she does have a nasty case of “bingo arms” and nasty cankles!
