Students played 'frisbee' with land mine
Two Swiss students on holiday played frisbee with an object they found on a beach unaware it was a live land mine.
Lukas Aider, 20, and Christoph Kurz, 19, took a plunge in the Danube river in Budapest when they found the mine and began their potentially lethal game.
A lifeguard watching stopped them and immediately called the police.
A bomb squad then arrived to make safe what turned out to be an old Soviet 6 kilogrammes anti-tank mine.

IMHO these two guys are really lucky. Maybe we should ask them to pick our numbers in this week’s Lotto!

What’s the problem?
It’ wouldn’t have harmed them, it was an anti TANK mine, not anti personnel....LOL

6 killograms
Isn’t that about 13lbs? That sounds kinda fishy to me to say that they were playing ‘frisbee’ with it..

How could an anti-tank mine be light enough to throw as a frisbee? These guys must be built like Arrrnold.

?Lukas Aider, 20, and Christoph Kurz, 19, took a plunge in the Danube river in Budapest Somehow that to me seems the questionable part. Aren't all those European Rivers filthy? Especially Eastern Europe.

BTW, if the Elk Grove you are refering to is in CA, I live across the valley in the foothills, if not disregard this statement!:)

If these boys played Frisbee with a 6kg (13.2 lb) anti-tank land mine, they should look into Olympic discus.
Pacifist denial of history may help to thin out a whole generation of people who were never aware that several wars were fought on the land where they are frolicking.

Yep, though by the beginning of next year I’m going to be SloughhouseDan. Not sure if I should change my FR moniker. I’ll probably start a thread and take a poll.

Well, at least you will be handy for the corn. I love their produce. I live near Jackson, and I am sure you know where that is. Used to date a woman in Elk Grove, but no longer. Take care and change your name if you want. There is no other sloughhouse in America that I know of!:)
