I have to give the Evil Elf credit for the best and most memorable line of the debate.

Headline should read:

“Marketing Arm of DNC Allowed to Moderate Democrat Debate”

or

“Show Debate Glorifies DNC Favorites”

I don’t see a problem, there are only two candidates with a chance of winning the nomination. Mr. Kook is a fruit cake that doesn’t deserve much attention.

He's a kook but even a kook is right once a day.

"parsed the file, and counted how many words each of the candidates were able to speak."

Oh, puh-leeze!

Is this what we've come down to? Counting words to determine "fairness"?

First of all, an eloquent speaker can make his point in fewer words. (Cheney, for example, is great at this).

Second, Kucinich who? Gravel who? Limit the debate to the top four players -- the others are taking up space. President Kucinich indeed.

I am surprised that the analysis failed to mention this important factor:
Obama speaks two or three times slower than Hillary. I would be curious as to the breakdown of seconds or minutes spoken between Obama and Hillary (not just words).
I think you would find that Obama clearly spoke several more minutes than Hillary, if not more than just several.

Hypothesis:

Distorting the attention in favor of the front runners and ignoring the kooks is beneficial to a party overall.

I’ll bet the MSM provides this benefit much more significantly to the Dems than to the Republicans.

The study would analyze how much the word count correlates with the poll standings. More correlation=more assistance to that party.

Welcome to the GOP world, whereas the republican candidate is only allowed to respond to the Drive By’s accusations and more often than not, cannot get a word in edgewise.

The problem is, the TV cameras won’t turn down low enough to see anything but the top of his head.
