FL Official 'Regrets' Mosque Comments

City commissioner will take part in Muslim town hall meeting

The Orlando chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Orlando) today thanked a local official who expressed regret for recent comments about U.S. mosques that some Muslims found offensive.

At a recent City of Sanford planning meeting, Commissioner Randy Jones said: "I mean it might be un-politically correct, but I don't care. . .The fact of the matter is, I don't think you will get a lot of takers on residential [development] next to a mosque just because of what's going on worldwide."

In response to Jones' statement, CAIR-Orlando sent a letter to the commissioner stating in part:

". . .because your comments were made in an official capacity, it may sanction the view that Muslims should be isolated from community life based on tragic conflicts happening overseas. . .Let us work toward mutual understanding and a solution to the misconception you raised, that tragic conflicts which occur overseas must negatively impact an otherwise positive and productive relationship at home."

I'm afraid that when the time does come to fight back that most Americans won't be able to.

There was once a time when I used to ask myself why the Jews never fought back against the Nazis when their freedoms were slowly eroding away. When the day came to walk into the gas chambers they went in voluntarily without even bothering to fight.

There are some things which take time. cair will be taken care of, in due time. cair is currently ‘named’ in a lawsuit involving terrorism. The case is moving through the courts. “No muslim will ever be my countryman. I’ll never trust one of them.”

Unfortunately not enough of our fellow Americans agree with you. But, I do.

I'm not a vindictive or hateful man, and I'm not one to say things like that flippantly.

The people who speak for that culture, when not playing the "annointed political victim" game in this country really make no bones about what their ultimate goal is, and how they intend to achieve it.

I fail to see any evidence that their so-called moderates will not fall in behind the radicals, nor do I think that their radical doctrines will not eventually be adopted by muslim populations not yet radicalized (it's not a culture that seems to allow independent thinking about anything).

Neither do I believe most of the snow-jobs we get from our own government regarding them. I believe that Western leaders are not only paralyzed by PC, they are blinded by it as well.

One need only look anywhere in the world where they have migrated to in large numbers to see that all they bring with them is tyranny, filth, ignorance and violence. One can't help but notice how brazenly they demand every country they infest to subordinate their own cultures to accommodate Islam.

Every time I hear that "Huddled Masses" song and dance with regard to muslims, I can't help remembering a muslim sergeant in the 101st Airborne throwing grenades into the tents of fellow soldiers.

My wariness of muslims is much like the wariness I would have of a venemous snake, and for the same reasons. I know that however gently I handled it, no matter how I caressed it and tried to gentle it's nature, I'll very likely (and deservedly) be bitten.
