2 Va. counties OK immigration crackdown

By SARAH KARUSH, Associated Press Writer1 hour, 32 minutes ago

Ines Olivia Martinez wonders if her family will be denied medical care. Even her mentally disabled 13-year-old son has been anxiously pointing out police cars amid fears of a local crackdown on illegal immigrants. Resolutions to deny a potentially wide range of public services to illegal immigrants have thrust two northern Virginia counties into the nation's immigration debate.

The measures passed in July in Prince William and Loudoun counties join a flurry of recent efforts by local governments nationwide that believe the federal government has not done enough to stop illegal immigration.

But while other jurisdictions have focused largely on landlords and employers who knowingly rent to and hire illegal immigrants, the Virginia resolutions take a more direct approach. The National Association of Counties says the two counties are the first it knows of to pass measures aimed at denying services.

They probably will not be the last. Officials in several other Virginia counties have said they plan to follow suit, and the sponsor of the Prince William resolution says he has gotten e-mails from all over the country praising his efforts.

The new approach comes as some jurisdictions back off plans to crack down on landlords and employers following a federal court ruling last month that struck down a law in Hazleton, Pa. The much-copied law would have imposed fines on landlords who rent to illegal immigrants and denied business permits to those who employ them.

The northern Virginia measures are also likely to face legal challenges. The Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund has threatened to sue Prince William County. Other groups, including the American Civil Liberties Union, say they fear service restrictions will result in discrimination,

Martinez said some of her friends and relatives have moved out of Prince William County because of the measure.

Good! The law is working then. Deny them the reason they broke into our country in the first place, and they'll leave. Another piece of common sense that seems to escape the looney left.

The nerve of these people is amazing they had no compunction with marching in California, carrying Mexican flags, and demanding rights they don’t have. Why don’t they demonstrate in Mexico. And what’s with the supreme court ruling we have to educate their kids. Idiocy!

It is a stretch, but that won't stop them.

Someone will indeed write such a story. ANOTHER PREDICTION: There will also be an illegal suicide along the way somewhere, too, with a suicide letter left behind (which of course will be read out widely, far, and often) about dispondency over deportation, or lack of Amnesty. It is already dummied up, it is coming, quicker that you can say "President Boosh".

As someone has already posted, I hope they all make a beeline to the sanctuary cities.

I agree with this strategy. It is going to be VERY difficult to round up 20 million people for deportation without a fight, on on the first round.

The strategy needs to be in phases.

First we must force them via mass exodus out of communities which we can take back through local measure, and cause them to stream into sanctuary cities and counties first.

After several years, those will become hellish cesspools of crime and filth and disorder. Then even the LIBS will cry Uncle, and the final step will be them getting kicked out of the United States or self deporting. I give it about a 5-7 year process, providing we have a sympathetic occupant of the White House during that time.

Ines Olivia Martinez wonders if her family will be denied medical care.

Does she have a plan to pay for it?

If so, why should there be a problem?

Mentally disabled little Johnny, whose parents are American citizens, can’t find insurance coverage that meets their budget. One reason why is because there is a huge amount of strain put on by those entering the United States illegally that effect health care for legal residents....

Wish I could be sure of that logic! Maybe the libs WANT these hellish cesspools. That's where the voters are, who will tip the scales for the Dems and keep them in power. That's where the troubles are answered by gun control and "hate crime" legislation and all manner of nanny state rules that, once established, can spread to the rest of America.

“Ines Olivia Martinez wonders if her family will be denied medical care. “.....

If you’re illegal, the answer is yes. Hope I cleared that up for her.

Drag your butts to Cuba where they have better health care than the US (according to Mikey), they speak Spanish, and you can get a free rice cooker.

I have a tear in my eye from worry that my county WON’T enact the same legislation and the illegals are coming here!

I doubt it will take several years.

From the looks of hermana grande on the left, I would imagine they will indeed need that rice cooker in Havana!

I moved to North Carolina a few months back from Texas and discovered that illegals were stealing left and right from the 3/4 million dollar homes in the neighborhood I was working in. I decided to contact INS/homeland security for NC and talked to the head of INS for NC, after about a week of speaking to answering machines and leaving messages on a 1800#. He said that the only way they could do anything at all was if the President or a State Congressman walked into their office personally. He also said that the State of North Carolina had only 7 INS agents to arrest illegals and there was absolutely nothing they could do, as they were mainly wrapped up in paperwork and red tape.

In Texas, you call INS, they show up the next day with Paddy-wagons, helicopters, and dogs. Here on the East coast, you leave a message on a 1-800# and pray...

The cost of new homes here in NC is LITERALLY 2 to 3 times what it is in most parts of Texas, but the contractors building those homes get paid several dollars less an hour than in Texas. There is a problem here... Contractors here have to have contractor’s licenses, in TX they don’t...Here contractors have to pay extra taxes, carry unemployment insurance, and face the wrath of the State Government if they even get a little out of whack with all of their ducks in a row. In Texas, if you screw someone over on a job, they find you in a ditch. You don’t need a contractor’s license, and you don’t have to pay state taxes, unemployment insurance, or worry about being incarcerated by the State because you forgot which kind of corporation you actually own.

Texas has a need killing’ law and a concealed handgun license that anyone, being of sound mind, can use.

What can we learn from the State that’s on the border with Mexico? The media presents the border to the rest of the nation as if Texas and the other states do absolutely nothing to stop the flow of illegals into America, but that isn’t true at all. If you drove down the road within 60 miles of the border in TX, you would be paranoid from all of the cops and roadblocks. (even if you’ve done nothing wrong) The INS presence is everywhere, and they respond about as fast as calling Geico to switch you’re auto insurance.

In TX when you shoot a coyote on your property, you throw it over the fence and leave it there for the other coyotes to smell and learn to stay off your property...It works.
Why don’t we use this same practice? Why is wrapping up illegals on the East Coast such a damn problem? Hell, the way the government does things around here, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if there’s a nuke sitting right down the road from me. You people around here aught to be scared.

One last tidbit - Last year the TX INS discovered two separate tunnels leading from Nuevo Laredo under the Rio Grande into Laredo that had electric trains pulling carts down a fully lighted train track. The tunnels were several miles long and very expensive to create. I’ve worked with several illegals over the years that, when INS busts them, they sit here in America until INS sends them back, which is somewhere around two weeks. When they get back to Central America, they take a week off and see their family, and buy all new cloths (Tommy Hilfinger, Ralph Lauren, Air Jordans, etc.) at extremely reduced prices.(probably because the factories are there that make them.) They then get on a semi, spend $1000 cash, and are back in Central Texas in under 1 week. The Mexican Army is about as corrupt as most of the military leaders of Northern Pakistan, so getting here isn’t a problem.

Just imagine if you knew the right people to get here and had $50,000 to play with... What all could you bring with you?

If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always gotten...

Perhaps it’s time for a drastic change, who’s with me?

That’s what I keep hoping, that if enough areas crack down on illegal immigration, they will congregate in the sanctuary cities and let the bleeding hearts put their money where their mouths are, for real. Especially when their violent crime rates rise exponentially, and the incidents of hit and run by uninsured drunk illegal drivers.

What really chaps me is how the Wall Street Journal, the AP, the fishwraps owned by the NYT syndicate, etc. all seem unable to distinguish between bonifide immigrants who are in the US legally and illegal aliens. In their attempts to confuse those Americans who can’t think clearly, they refer to both categories as “immigrants” and to people like me who want the borders closed and illegal aliens deported as “anti-immigrant”. My grandparents were immigrants, but were LEGAL immigrants!

This is my new standard post on illegal threads: We need to do something similar to the AIDS quilt that went across the country, only the squares represent the Americans killed by illegals. We need to put it all together visually for all to see the horrible impact.

This is a response from AuntB if anyone is interested.

Let’s do it. I can quilt. Who else? I’m serious. Let’s do something. We can get the advertising for it from all the immigration groups. One section (or quilt - there are thousands since 9/11) for children, one for LEO’s etc.

I have a list started here:
