We bow before You and worship You for Your holiness, Your omnipotence, and Your amazing grace. How often we limit You and Your power because we think of You in human terms. O Lord, help us to see that You are not human---You are GOD. Surely the Creator is greater and more powerful than that which He has created. Open our eyes and our hearts, Lord, that we may behold Your magnificence, that we may unleash Your power; that we may lift up our hearts to You and experience the blinding light of Your glory. O Lord, how excellent in Your Name in all the earth.
Father, we commit our President to You and ask You to give him new strength when his own physical strength fails him. Enable him to fulfill every purpose You have for his life. No matter what good thing is impossible in his eyes, Lord, help him to understand that with You, all things are possible. Make his faith strong, Father, so that it may move the mountains in his life; and help him, Lord, to know that he need never face any trial alone. You have promised to never leave him or forsake him. Thank You, Father, for being his strength, his shield, his stronghold, and the lifter of his head.
Hasten the day, Lord, when our troops may return home from Iraq. Until that time, we pray for Your careful watch over each precious life. Place faith and hope in the lives of their family members who wait for them. Remind each of us to pray for them every day, Father, Please send soothing, cooler air to them, Father, and help them to persevere.
We are Your people, Lord. Help us not to be lukewarm, apathetic, or silent. Help us to make our voices heard in America. Help us to extend grace to our neighbors and share the good news of the Gospel with all those living in darkness. We know that the final victory is Yours, Lord, and we rejoice that our Savior reigns forever. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
