The Democratic National Committee sought to seize control of its unraveling nominating process yesterday, rejecting pleas from state party leaders and cracking down on Florida for scheduling a Jan. 29 presidential primary.

The DNC's rules and bylaws committee, which enforces party rules, voted yesterday morning to strip Florida of all its delegates to the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver -- the harshest penalty at its disposal...

Hopefully the residents of Florida will remember how the Democrat party only cares about the state for approximately 1 week prior to the general election, and vote accordingly.

“Should I care? I’m trying to figure out why this means squat.”

It means the national Dem party has removed Florida’s say in selecting the Presidential candidate. That probably means they don’t feel the Florida democrats will be in lock step with electing Hillary.

Poor pathetic Dims. They are just about to totally p*ss off their retired blue haired yellow dog democrat codgers and codgerettes in the indispensable state of Florida.

I think you are right.

The harshness behind this DNC action has Hillary's name written all over it. This is the vindictiveness that is a hallmark of Hillary's politics.

She is trying to rig her nomination and election and anyone upsetting the apple cart will be dealt with severely.

The fix is in and Florida Democrats are not playing along.

It's funny how much Hillary's machine resembles the Mafia.

They are still bitter that Gore lost....

The amazing part is that Floridians voted for the change in the date and are being punished for their vote by the Democrats.

Or, resembles someting else.

Next, she'll be disbanding The Reichstad -- er, Congress.

Message to Florida: Seven years ago, you went to the mat to make a Democrat President. This is your payback. I cant wait to see the Republican message in Florida now.

All very true, the funny thing is most Democrats will not see that fact.

Hilliary will stand for no competition for her place in the sun, seriously if Obama manages to catch her in the polls, he had better stay out of parks in DC, and not fly in any govt aircraft...

Thanks for linking to the printer-friendly version of the article. Those of us trapped in 56K dialup HELL appreciate your kindness.

From the article:

The penalty will not take effect for 30 days, and rules committee members urged officials from the nation's fourth-most-populous state to use the time to schedule a later statewide caucus and thus regain its delegates.

By making an object lesson of Florida, Democrats hope to squelch other states' efforts to move their voting earlier, which have created chaos in the primary structure that the national party has established. But the decision to sanction such a pivotal, vote-rich state has risks.

So, do ya reckon they'll play kiss-kiss and make up in 30 days?
