BEIJING, China, August 27, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Recent demographic reports are showing that the ratio of males to females in China is spiraling out of control. If the increasing imbalance, caused primarily by sex-selected abortions and infanticide, is not remedied, it will lead to increased crimes against women and the threat of an aggressively militant state.
In January Chinese media reports said that by 2020, 30 million Chinese men would be unable to find wives (See http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/2007/jan/07011510.html). Since then, however, recent reports indicate that the numbers have dramatically risen. According to these findings, the imbalance will increase to 37 million more marriageable Chinese men than marriageable women by 2020, the Guardian Unlimited reports.
Nationwide there are 119 Chinese males for every 100 females rather than the average 105 males for every 100 females in the Western developed nations, ABC News reports. In some regions, however, there is an even greater divide with 130 males to 100 females. The city of Lianyungang in Jiangsu province has the most marked difference of 163.5 boys to 100 girls among children aged one to four. According to a recent report by the China Family Planning Association (CFPA), 99 cities in China have sex ratios above 125 boys per 100 girls.
Although there are two Chinese laws preventing sex-based abortion, this is ignored in many places throughout China. In some cases, the doctor gives a thumbs up to the parents if their unborn child is a boy and a thumbs down if it is a girl. People often abort their baby girls, especially in rural areas, because they want a son to support themselves and the grandparents in their old age.
Within the past few years, the Chinese government has offered various attempts to remedy the skewed male to female ratio. In 2003 a "Care for Girls" policy was introduced which gave financial benefits to parents with female children as well as a pro-female child slogan campaign. Such efforts have not affected the situation, however, which is a direct result of the government's one-child policy and its forced methods of population control.
In order to stem the problem, China is planning to crack down on medical institutions that tell parents the sex of their child. In light of the recent population reports, the government announced that it would draft new legislation to punish sex-selected abortions.
If the lopsided ratio does not improve, Chinese society will suffer a rise in prostitution, wife kidnapping and other forms of sexual violence against women-abuses that have already grown within the country. Some predict that the situation will also lead to increased militancy and terrorism in China (See http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/2005/dec/05120602.html).

Even Homer Simpson would would have seen this coming.
One child policy in a nation that places little value on girls. Everyone has a son to carry on the name, but the son now has nobody to marry.
I don’t see how Chinese men can ever have a date in their lives, let alone marry.
For years we all read about how, especially in rural China, girl babies would be drowned or otherwise left for dead since they were of “no value”.
They have sown their own evil crop.
China is gearing up for a major war in the ME, SE Asia and Africa. Fact is, they NEED a to kill off all those extra males. All those men that just might wonder why they live in poverty in a slave state, with no wives. 30,000,000 of them.
The thing that’s scary about this is what will happen when they start going wife hunting outside of their own borders, there are plenty of weaker countries with women to pillage. the thing is could they be stopped?
Huh? There's no shortage of women in the Middle East...
Tibet traditionally had polyandry, but a woman would marry brothers. Brothers are in short supply in China now. Tibet also has lots of monks.
Mrs VS
Japan and Korea will fill the gap.
(1) The median age of Chinese women is approaching 34. The average age of Indian women is 25. In 15 years the demographic disconnect between India and China will be incredible as a result.
(2) The median age of a Japanese woman is now 45 years, and their population is entering a tailspin. It is even worse than it appears because Japanese live so long that it skews the population numbers radically. If the Japanese lived as long as Americans, their population would have dropped almost 10% over the past 15 years.
(3) 37 million Chinese men without wives is a lowball number: as a certain segment of Chinese society becomes wealthier, many successful Chinese men will have not only one wife but also a mistress, as is traditional.
Many successful Chinese men will divorce older wives and trade them in for younger mistresses or new wives - the old wives will usually be past childbearing age, and many of the mistresses will be sterilized at the request of their married boyfriend to avoid financial unpleasantness. This will have a significant multiplier effect - the true number could be 50 million or more lower income men with little prospect for marriage.
(4) A byproduct of 50 million men with few marriage prospects will be a surge in the number of prostitutes (perhaps with tacit government encouragement) to provide these men a sexual outlet. This is yet a another large cohort of women who are effectively off the marriage and reproduction market.
If every single woman of childbearing age in Korea and Japan were captured and forcibly married to Chinese men, it wouldn't plug the gap.
Believe it or not, the two countries combined probably have fewer than 33 million women of healthy childbearing age (15-45) left.
This is only for 20 years and younger. Females have a lower death rate so that for the age group of 20 to 45 they outnumber men 100 to 98. IOW the situation is probably even more dire.
Of course they could always bring back the eunuchs.
I can think of three American women we could export and their first names are Hillary, Elizabeth, and Michelle.
Shouldn’t have killed all those baby girls...starvation is not a pretty sight...and those babies were starved to death...sickening...
That's been my concern since I first heard of this some 15 or so years ago.
i hear Russia has lots of sickly men and lots of healthy women.
Sounds like China will have a ripe solution in a generation or less.
Watch for explosive growth in the homosexual community.
Where’d you come up with that?
