Orlando, Fla. (AP) -- Former astronaut Lisa Nowak is pursuing an insanity defense on charges that she assaulted and tried to kidnap a romantic rival, according to a document released Tuesday.
Defense attorney Donald Lykkebak wrote that Nowak suffered from major depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, insomnia and "brief psychotic disorder with marked stressors." He noted that the already-petite Nowak had recently lost 15 percent of her body weight.

I’d say she has a pretty good shot at it!!!
I wonder if she has lost her security clearance.
Everyone who commits a crime can claim they were “insane” at that time.
An old Quincy episode provided the correct answer to this stupid defense. Such people should be “Insane, but guilty”.
Yup. Makes sense to me.
This probably accomplishes two things. One, an excuse for her actions. Two, probably will enable her to retire WITH benefits since she will claim this to be job acquired

We send “insane” people into space now? Well......maybe!
Sorry but anyone who could plan something as meticulously as she did this is not insane.
What is it? Another Naval Academy “nutcase” along with Carter, McCain and Perot?
Must be the water from the Severn River.
Should be easy.
You have to be nuts to go up in one of those rockets to begin with.
I think the Depends wearing was disproved in the court hearing that was held last week.
