THE BUNGA-LOWDOWN: FUROR OVER CLAN'S 45G FOR HILLARY (Norman Hsu & Paw Family Scandal)
The New York Post ^ | August 29, 2007 | Maggie Haberman

Posted on 08/29/2007 11:11:24 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign aides yesterday said they won't return tens of thousands of dollars contributed by a seemingly low-income family living in a tiny bungalow tied to one of the Democratic Party's biggest donors.

The campaign's response came a day after The Wall Street Journal reported on the donations from the Paw family of Daly City, Calif.

The father, William, is a mail carrier, and the mother, Alice, is a homemaker. They live in a one-story green bungalow - yet six Paws have given a combined $45,000 to Clinton's Senate and presidential campaigns in the past two years.

They also ranked up with some of the most affluent addresses elsewhere in the country by giving roughly $200,000 to various Democratic White House hopefuls during that time - and their donations hewed closely to those made by apparel executive Norman Hsu, the Journal reported.

The article insinuates that Hsu gave money to the Paws to donate to get around limits on campaign contributions from individuals.

Hsu and the Paws denied their donations were related.

Hsu is slated to host a Sept. 30 fund-raiser in Northern California for Clinton.

Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson said that there are no plans to return cash donated either by the Paws or by Hsu, and that the fund-raiser will go on as planned.

Wolfson referred to his statement a day earlier that "we have absolutely no reason to call [Hsu's] contributions into question."

Hsu once listed the Paws' house as his address, according to the Journal.

He cites about a half-dozen businesses as his source of income, including Next Components - a firm that Winkle Paw, one of the Paws' grown children, names as his employer on some of his donations, federal election records show.

If any Republican candidate for ANY office, much less the highest in the land, had done 1% of what Hillary has done, he/she would already be in prison!!

The Clintons pulled the same thing in Bill’s ‘96 campaign. I think the correct number is 102 for the number of Clinton campaign donors who fled the country to avoid questioning and possible prosecution.

But, they’re the Clintonistas; they can do what they want and get away with it.

Oh, trust me Doug; we’ll keep the stories coming right up until election day in November ‘08 but, it will probably do no good. See my post #4.

“Let’s keep the stories coming.”

They are - this is, what, the fourth article in the last two days about this posted here?

If that sounds like a complaint, it isn’t.

Looks like the MSM isn’t all that skeered of HR(C)H; all the folks here nattering about how much Teflon she supposedly has on have forgotten something - Teflon flakes off with sufficient heat.

“If they think the Queen is wounded, maybe the MSM will get some courage.”

Especially if they believe the numbers out there that say she’s unelectable - doesn’t matter whether they’re true; it’s what they believe that counts here.

Throw her under the bus before it’s too late.

"Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson said that there are no plans to return cash donated either by the Paws or by Hsu.."

...And by the time the FEC gets around to this the election will be over.

Hsu is slated to host a Sept. 30 fund-raiser in Northern California for Clinton.

Isn't that the state where there's a bench warrant for his arrest for fleeing a felony sentence?

Let me see if I got this correct. Dirty money is received and spent. The exposure happens and the rats scramble to down play it by using someone else's donation to “return”.

I agree and remember whenever the dimwits brings a republican to the forefront; they are hiding something for Hillary. That’s the only reason Craig made it to the hit list this week.

“Isn’t that the state where there’s a bench warrant for his arrest for fleeing a felony sentence?”

I was thinking the same thing. And isn’t it simply amazing that there’s been so little curiosity shown by the California authorities regarding this guy’s comings and goings since his conviction and disappearance? Whatever happened to “Book ‘em, Danno”?
