17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) is to be convened on Oct. 15, which will shape up the Chinese leadership for next five years. This makes it highly likely that N. Korean leader would visit China in coming November.
High-level diplomatic sources in China said on Aug. 29, "It is quite likely that N. Korean leader Kim Jong-il would make a visit to China on November, in which he would introduce himself to China's next leadership and inform them of the result of inter-Korean summit to be held on early October."
It is said that he would also ask for China's economic cooperation and support.
Diplomatic sources said, "It is our understanding that Kim Jong-il plans to visit China after the CPC National Congress which is to convene on Oct. 15. We believe that Sino-N. Korean summit is most likely to be held in November."
Ping!
Perhaps for medical treatment?
Needs new batteries for his I pod?
Cant believe that he is willing to leave his fiefdom for even a minute. Of course, if your opposition (the people) is weak from starvation, you could leave for a day or two.
Does this guy ever travel anywhere else besides communist China? Will any other country allow him in?

OH BOY Chia Pet going to China Town LOL! ask for Caine LOL!
A lot of dangerous financial activity is occuring in the global economy with what looks to me, a peak at the end of 2008 (after Bejjing Olympics). If China has a deep recession would they still supply North Korea with food and money considering they don’t need them as leverage to get what they want out of the US? The question deserved to be asked as what would Kim do without that aid? Use that massive military or lose it. Kim will do anything to stay in power and has show he has zero mercy on his population to reach this end.
Dennis Kookcinich maybe?
