All passengers on an American Airlines overnight flight to Chicago were ordered off a plane after complaints about a group of Arabic-speaking Iraqi men who were on their way home to Detroit.
The incident forced passengers to stay overnight.
The six Iraqi passengers had been training U.S. Marines at Camp Pendleton and worked for Defense Training Systems, a unit of the Alaska-based International Logistics Services Corp., said Dave Stephens, the company's chief executive officer.
"They did nothing wrong," Stephens said Wednesday. A company press release called it "an unfortunate situation for all flight passengers."

Like what?
I’ve got a fairly low threshhold for problems of this sort, but if these men were helping our troops we’re going to have to make sure they’re actually problematic before we go off on them.
If they were doing something over the line though, they still have to be held to account over it.
Sounds like it was another passenger who got unruly. As it is somewhat understandable, then maybe they should be wearing visible government ID. My husband works for a state agency and he wears his around his neck.
They should be on their way home to Iraq to fight for their country.
By training our Marines in needed Arabic skills and local costums they are fighting for Iraq and our safety. That’s way more than most Americans are contributing to victory in the WoT.
Thanks for the note. Perhaps so...
I can’t help but think that if I were in another nation, and US Citizens had cause a real problem for their airline industry, I’d try to eliminate any actions on my part that would set that nation’s citizens off.
Here, it seems as if the Muslim population actually gets it’s kicks by tweaking US passengers. Whether it be ferries, aircraft or subways, some people sure get a kick out of acting in a suspicious manner.
This whole thing stinks.
Iraqi nationals employed as defense experts advising US Marines while working for a US defense contractor.
Iraqi’s??
I wonder where they go when their work visa expires? /sarc
They can do it where the action is.
I think these Iraqis are the good guys. These fellows are here training our young men. Whatever advantage they can give, we should take it. Can’t blame the other passengers for being skittish tho’.
They can be good in Iraq where their homes should be. Planes fly all over the world.
They were on their way to Detroit Metro Airport which is in Romulus, Michigan. Detroit has a very low Arabic population. Homebase for these individuals would probably be Dearborn, Michigan. Arabs speak loudly with physical expressions. Probably scared the crap out of fellow passengers when they were yelling across the aisle. Better safe than sorry.
If this country was really the capitalistic hellhole the Left accuses it of being, some entrepreneur would have long ago started an airline catering to Muslims or Muslim-appearing people, and would by now be sitting on a fortune.
They should have had a REAL Marine (or 2) escorting them, to diffuse any problems, i.e., other passengers who do not realize who these guys are.
“Arabs speak loudly with physical expressions. Probably scared the
crap out of fellow passengers when they were yelling across the aisle.”
Could be an “air travel etiquette” situation.
All the overnight (red-eye) flights I’ve done from Los Angeles Int.
the crew turn off most of the regular cabin lights. And nearly all
the passengers kick back to rest/sleep.
Maybe these Iraqis were jazzed and yacking about their trip.
And some nearby passeners saw it as a major gaffe (even though
there’s no written rule about being quiet on red-eye flights, AFAIK).
They are Iraqi-Americans. American nationals. Guess they came here after 1991.
Please tell us what YOU have done for victory in this war.
Maybe you or someone in your family served. Please enlighten us, because I think your disparaging comments on those Iraqi-Americans who are assisting out troops on crucial issues are IMO more than gratuitous.
Look how brainwashed you are.
Put these wonderful Iraqis (it doesn’t say Americans) and their skills on a plane to Iraq and let six Americans come home.
