Yep - Montgomery County - which borders D.C. on the northwest and has some the toniest D.C. suburbs, like Bethesda and Chevy Chase.

What the 'steamed former ACLU Memeber means is that Maryland, in which glorious state I happen to reside, is home to many many many Federal workers picking up $75-100 thousand, but whose actual worth in the non-gov economy would be, shall we say substantially or to be charitable, somewhat, lower. Furthermore, many of these Federal "Workers" are a source of mystery to their neighbors, who wonder why an idiot who cannot wash a car, (never mind operate one) mow his lawn, or get dressed in attire familiar to others on the planet could possibly be worth anything, never mind the princely sums they receive for performing the mindless paper-shuffling tasks they are assigned. We also happen to know that many of them are so out of it, they are never assigned anything to do. It is also envy. Oh yeah, Federal "workers" are mostly really really fat and ugly, too. Talking HUGE.

LOL. You hit a bullseye with your analysis. One notorious federal worker who couldn't minimully function as a private sector toilet cleaner, comes to mind.

Forgot to mention: they are to a man*, registered Democrats.

NB, I say "man," since most are, except the self-identified males, definitely "mannish." However, once a Federal "worker" passes the 300lb mark, they can be harder to sex than 1/2-hour-old chicks.

LOL. Once again you have totally nailed the reality, as confirmed by my 4 years of living in suburban Wash DC suburbs of Maryland.

...as measured by median household income

Not the most accurate way to measure "wealth". Take a place like Beverly Hills, which is full of filthy rich Iranians (they even print the ballots in Farsi these days) who don't really have a reported income.

The graphic represents people who live in Manhattan who also collect farm subsidies. The big red dots are folks who collect more than $250,000 per year.

That's ridiculous! Can you tell me more what that is all about? I mean geez...

It’s not all government workers.

But it is almost all government taxpayer money.
