Republicans, worried about the scandal's effect on next year's election, suffered a further setback Friday when veteran Republican Sen. John Warner announced he will retire rather than seek a sixth term.

AFAIC Warner's retirement isn't something to be too upset over.

If every RINO in the House and Senate could be swapped out for genuine conservative Republicans such as Sessions of AL and Coburn of OK, the voters would see the change for the better and more of the same type would soon be elected. Then many, if not most, of the seemingly intractable problems we face as a nation could be ironed out in the span of two or three sessions of Congress.

Of course that would also require a genuinely conservative Republican president to sign the necessary legislation, and there are very, very few such potential presidential candidates around who are well enough known and appreciated to be elected.

Why would you queue for two minutes in busy, and therefore most likely smelly, restroom for two minutes when there is an empty, clean, luxury, restroom available to you a few feet away?

Why indeed? The last time I was in the Minneapolis terminal the public restrooms were so crowded that there were lines waiting to get into the stalls. And once in, you almost wanted to give up your place to someone who could better tolerate the smell and filthy condition of the stalls. And I'm not picking on the Minneapolis airport, it was a very busy day and I have occasionally found similar conditions in other major terminals as well on unusually busy days.

If Craig was willing to put up with that unsavory situation rather than to go for the no doubt plush and uncrowded NWA World Club facility he must have had a very, very good reason to do so. It now appears that the prospect of "hooking up" with a favorably inclined homosexual may well have been for him that very, very good reason.

I tried to believe the best about Craig when I first learned of the scandal because of his past good work in defending 2nd Amendment rights. But the mounting evidence against him is now almost indisputable, and he needs to go for the good of the party and the nation even if it's just a case of him using very poor judgment.

Spare a thought for the poor cop who has to spend his entire shift in that environment as people come and go around him stinking up the place.

His only respite is when some pervert makes a pass at him and proposes a disgusting liaison.

I mean, “what’s the worst job you’ve ever had?”

“have no fixed principles. If a principle suits their rhetorical needs of today they will proclaim their loyalty to it — and then cheerfully adopt the opposite principle tomorrow if that happens to suit the rhetorical needs of that day.”

That's why debating a lib is so fun, yet frustrating.

Best post on the subject, yet. Hadn’t thought of it that way:-)

Reportedly Craig said he always used that restroom--even though it was a long way from where he needed to be for his connecting flight. It's been reported that this particular restroom was well-known to homosexuals as the place to meet up...but 98% of the men catching a flight at a nearby gate would have no inkling of that, and might unknowingly walk in on something disgusting. Plus boys would use the same restroom.

Flying has become a trying enough experience without normal members of society being forced to confront that sort of activity.

Given the political clout of the gay lobby (witness Gen. Pace's departure), maybe the logical step is to designate certain restrooms for gays so that everyone else can use the other restrooms with only the usual hassles.

I am not defending the lying pervert(agreed). I am saying the man didn't break the law.....(although if they carried through with their little dance, he most likely would have.)
What law did he break? Do you want to get arrested on suspicion of what you might do? If I'm at a bar, a cop sees me grab my keys and I am acting drunk.....can he arrest me as soon as I get to the door?
I'm defending freedom.

Homeless men should be able to walk around children’s daycare centers because they have done nothing yet?

A person should be able to carry a stick of dynamite and a match onto a plane because they have done nothing yet?

If a horse sees me walk into his stall with a saddle he can bet that I am not fixing to wax my Jeep.

Premeditation, especially based on following criminal patterns are indeed a reason to detain. This Police Officer has been trained as to how these fags solicit other pervs. Did he actually have to have sex to prove the case?

A person in a deer stand with a rifle during deer season is NOT probably trying to adopt a pet. He probably doesn’t want to sketch a charcoal drawing of Bambi on a pad. He plans to shoot a deer.

If you are unable to follow a pattern of behavior to a potential outcome then it is hard to believe that Darwin’s Law has let you survive this long.

That's kinda what I have been asking. I have been told here of FR that soliciting homosexual sex in a public place is against the law, yet the homosexual act itself is not. Which raises the question in my mind, how can it be illegal to solicit a partner for an act that is perfectly legal for both parties? (notice that I said "legal act" not right or proper, it may be legal but it's still disgusting)

If I were to sit down at a Minneapolis bar next to a lady who I have never met and then briefly brush my foot against hers and ask her if she would like to go with me to a nearby hotel, would I be liable for arrest on a charge of soliciting sex? That would be an offensive act for sure, but is it illegal to be offensive? If it is, I have missed many opportunities to bring charges against people who offend me just by being themselves.

i didn't know it was against the law for a homeless man to walk around a day care center.....

A person should be able to carry a stick of dynamite and a match onto a plane because they have done nothing yet?
Now THIS is against the law.....there are rules on the books.

If a horse sees me walk into his stall with a saddle he can bet that I am not fixing to wax my Jeep.
This is just stupid.

Premeditation, especially based on following criminal patterns are indeed a reason to detain. This Police Officer has been trained as to how these fags solicit other pervs. Did he actually have to have sex to prove the case?
Yes. I think to cover true intent, you must follow through to a telling point. Pass money or exposure at least. Craig played footsie.
This is where Craig went wrong...he pleaded guilty AND the copes accepted it...'because' the cops knew they had noting on him and Craig's guilty conscience thought they did.
Tell me. If you walk into a bar....being a man, walk up to a woman in hopes of having a one night stand with her....buy her a drink and hang around her, and ask her if she want's 'to get out of here'...is this also against the law? No? Why not?

A person in a deer stand with a rifle during deer season is NOT probably trying to adopt a pet. He probably doesn’t want to sketch a charcoal drawing of Bambi on a pad. He plans to shoot a deer.
And if he was on private property, that would be against the law....intent means nothing until it's followed through......what are you the thought police? What if Craig decided to leave when he opened the door and saw the mans close up and changed his mind? False arrest.

If you are unable to follow a pattern of behavior to a potential outcome then it is hard to believe that Darwin’s Law has let you survive this long.
Pattern of behavior is un-enforcable until a crime is committed thank God. ...I'd hate to be arrested by a mind reader who 'thought' i was going to do something because I asked for a spare square or tied my shoelaces while sitting on the pot.

The light at the end of the tunnel might be a train and grizzly bears don’t snuggle.
Are you drinking?

You thrash and fail. You have not refuted a single thing that I posted and it is clear that you didn’t understand my post either. Several of your responses were really vapid.

The ad homin at the end proves it.

Flying has become a trying enough experience without normal members of society being forced to confront that sort of activity.

I can certainly agree with that, and in fact I have not flown recently even though I am eligible for very low travel industry rates.

I haven't been defending a right for Craig to hassle men in restrooms on these Craig threads, I have just questioned how, given our courts' and lawmakers' newfound respect and protection for homosexual "rights", it can still be illegal to solicit partners for homosexual acts that are in themselves legal and even protected by law.

To me that seems equivalent to making it illegal to ask a man on the street for a cigarette even though it would be perfectly legal (in some places) to smoke that cigarette. Is it illegal to politely panhandle passers by on the street for a cigarette or a buck for a cup of coffee? If so, the cops could fill the jails with such lawbreakers in almost any big town on any day of the week. I know that panhandlers can be and sometimes are arrested for vagrancy or littering or some such violation, but I have not been aware that they can be arrested for simply panhandling. I guess there is some legal principle involved here that I don't quite understand.

No you're wrong. I refuted any that made sense....your questions were all silly analogies....horses and saddles? You did not prove to me the man broke the law....
Please....tell me about meeting a woman in a bar like I asked ....is it illegal to pick up a girl in a bar when she plays the little dance with you?

If you can't see it my way....think about this. The man is Republican. Do you REALLY think they would of let this man settle for a misdemeanor IF they had something on him?

silly analogies

Over your head. A girl in a bar is different than a man in a bathroom. Do you not see a difference?

Well maybe YOU don't.
