The Boston Globe has a fawning Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous-ish profile of Fox News Channel’s Geraldo Rivera. In between musing about his favorite pair of soft Uggs (”I’ve worn these in Tora Bora and Somalia,” he says, admiring the suede slip-ons with the sheepskin lining. “They’re so comfortable. I love them.”), his “36-foot Hinckley powerboat,” and his massive estates (including “Seagate, the spectacular, 10-bedroom estate he bought several years ago with his fourth wife” and another “Kennedy-esque compound” with his current wife), he spews this:
Rivera, who as a fledgling lawyer in the ’70s counseled the Puerto Rican nationalist group the Young Lords, says he can’t stomach the politicians and pundits who are stoking “anti-immigrant hysteria,” and his antipathy extends to some of his colleagues at Fox.
“Michelle Malkin is the most vile, hateful commentator I’ve ever met in my life,” he says. “She actually believes that neighbors should start snitching out neighbors, and we should be deporting people.
“It’s good she’s in D.C. and I’m in New York,” Rivera sneers. “I’d spit on her if I saw her.”
I think that the “Man Who Would be King” who also went to Viet Nam has a 40’ Hinckley. This means that Whorealdo has a little one.

He is confused. What does he and others not understand about the illegality involved in sneaking into a country without papers? Sometimes the left is so easy to dislike. They discard rational thinking as if it is merely an obstacle to their desires. It isn’t about sympathizing with the poor people of Mexico. I also have respect for the hard working poor Hispanics, I’ve personally hung sheet rock with them so I’m not some outsider looking in, which is why I will not let them become the slaves of rich white farmers and contracting companies. Does Rivera not understand that when illegal aliens get hurt on the job they are left with little recourse. What is ironic is that legal aliens from Mexico are often forced to return to Mexico for medical care because of the expense and contracting companies not offering them medical insurance and paying them low wages because they are Mexican.
He and others are doing poor Mexicans no favor in their misguided defense of illegal immigration. Just as the left is consistent in harming almost every group they attempt help by misunderstanding and misdiagnosing the problems involved and providing monetary and bureaucratic solutions which only cause the problems to grow even bigger while producing a permanent underclass trapped in the ghettos of cities and with few options but a lifetime of menial labor with children growing up being taught to rely on their skin color and ethnic background as a bargaining chip.
I wonder if Geraldo would storm Michele with a Tommy gun like she was Al Capone's empty vault.

Of course the whole "Hispanic solidarity" thing is a farce. PRs don't like Mexicans, Mexicans don't like Guatamalans, Guatamalans don't like Nicaraguans, Nicaraguans don't like Colombians, etc., etc., etc.

Hey Whorealdo . . would you feel the same about immigration if the bulk of the immigrants were Filipinos (Michelle’s ethnicity) rather than Latinos?
Or if they were coming predominantly from Africa?

I’ve heard him say that he is Puerto Rican - I’m not sure if he ever lived there, or if he grew up in New York. He doesn’t seem to have much of an accent, although if he wanted to be a broadcaster, he nust have learned that “I have no accent at all” accent that all broadcasters have.
