Did she offer a blanket apology to the other people on the plane? Did she offer to pay for any inconveniences, missed business meetings, etc? That would be a start. Not good enough, but a start.
Have you read “Stolen Valor?” I forget the author’s name.
He had the same problem when he wanted to collect for a Texas Viet Nam Veteran memorial. His coworkers said “Why do you want to build a memorial for THOSE guys?” Referring to the burned out bums.
He became curious about those “Vets” and when he spoke with them he quickly learned they weren’t what they claimed to be.
By the way; God bless you and thanks for your service!
They have hired a lawyer.
F’ em.
Yes, I have a copy of ‘Stolen valor,’ by B.G. Burkett.
After many years of wondering why I wasn’t fitting into the “normal profile” I was relieved to read his book and see that I was more normal than I thought.
I am of the opinion that of those of us who did suffer problems, many of those “problems” lay at the feet of those who invalidated our service and made a mockery of those who paid the ultimate price.
God Bless and thank you!
>Yes because his name is David the chances that he is a Chaldean/Assyrian Christian from Iraq are higher than the chances for him being a Muslim. Regardless of his Religion he is a good guy in my book. Training our Marines in skills they need for their mission is more than most Iraqis or Americans are doing. Period.<
Period, huh? Do you know the definition of espionage? When I have an evaluation of the work performed and a satisfactory status report from INTEL, then I might just give a rugrider a pat on the back and say thank you.
Don’t count on it though.
These men were helping the US Marine corps. The woman was irrational (although she has the right to be so). And no man or woman should ever have to 'get on their knees' and apologize for the actions or inactions of another (and you saying that was quite similar to the nonsense people like Farrakhan spout forth when they say that people living today should pay for what slave owners used to do in the past ...the difference is that ).
IMHO, the woman was irrational. Now, she has a right to be irrational, but the men also have a right to be annoyed (I would be if pulled from a plane because some lady thought my scowl was due to the call of Allah).
And even if these men were not helping the military, they would still be under no obligation to get on their knees and explain the actions of the entire Arab culture .....particularly to some lady on an emotional hair-trigger.
