Why couldn’t Rudy beat Hillary in New York State?

Because on the political spectrum, New York State is just to the right of Cuba or Venezuala. High taxes unions, nanny state support, are all very popular there.

New York City voters only elected Guliani because after the mess created by Dinkins and Koch, they were desperate for change. And to Rudy’s credit, he did a fantastic job. He stood up for the cops, he made welfare recipients go to work. Crime dropped dramatically. Naturally, all of these things made him very unpopular with New Yorkers. Until 9.11 of course.

I’ll get blasted for this, but I like Rudy. He’s not as RINO as some people think. And he’s got the cajones to stand up to liberals, unlike George W. Bush. Of all the candidates running, he’s got the most executive experience, outside of the governors - Huckabee, Romney and Richardson. And New York City is bigger than all three of those states combined.

Giuliani supports homosexual rights, gun control, and abortion on demand.

That's beyond RINO, that's being more liberal than some Democrats.

That’s about as much as supporters of the Mayor are allowed to say on FR. We’re forced to swallow our words as he continues to raise millions upon millions of dollars from non-FReepers.

We’re out here - you just can’t actually, y’know, be overt about it or anything. Just hang in there.

Funny how no one remembers the Mayor’s bout with prostate cancer.

Sorry, Jagmike, but I was living in Canarsie during those times. Crime was already well on it’s way down. Welfare recipients did not go to work en masse, and taxes soared. The city tax on monthly parking alone jumped form 67.00 a month to 110.00. City employment tax was increased to 10% and many who werent subject to it before, now were, inlcuding me.

Look, any maroon can raise taxes and “solve” a financial crisis, and offer support to the police, and firemen, at taxpayers expense, of course. But it takes a real intelligent and creative leader to do these things without causing more harm than good.

Let’s not forget, juliani ordered spousal support programs, publicly financed abortions, and “Safe Harbor City” status to illegals, replete with a monthly stipend and food.

MUCH of what he did violated Federal laws, and now he wants to lead our Federalist Nation.

I F’n think NOT!

NY is a great city, and has been manipulated by each and every Gov. and Mayor that I can remember, including the billionaire mayor they now have. I’d like to see it stay a great city.
