Wow! He's a reluctant politician! ALL THE MORE REASON TO SUPPORT HIM!! Hillary has wanted to be president since before she started you-know-what! Is that a good thing? Craving for power and ruthless ambition are positives?

Well said. Reluctant politicians always seem to have the greatest appeal , and seem far more trustworthy .

>>>...”In the Line of Fire,” movies in which he had small but memorable parts playing powerful, world-weary men.
Not a good example on the author’s part. His character nearly got the President killed in “In the Line of Fire”.

Agreed. I would never vote for mittflop or julie-annie, both of them are the weakest, fakest “frontrunners” I’ve ever seen.
Thompson saw the obvious hole made by the liberal and unsatisfying republican top-tier, and the demand from across the country for his entry made him see that republicans are begging for a strong, real conservative, a man’s man.
I’ll be voting for Fred in the primaries. :)

That is a great point, one I had not considered. I have to admit I'm not enthusiastic with (what appears to be viable) any candidate at this point.
I have high hopes for Mr. Thompson....this Country needs a good man.

That was O.K., though. Remember, it was the 90's. I recall a similar response during the movie 'Indepedence Day" (I think) where Will Smith battled an alien invasion. The premier audience I sat in cheered when the White House was vaporized. Klintigula wasn't too popular then...

Yeah, I definitely agree. But, I do wish he'd drop the "honey" thing when addressing women. As a man, I hate it when a waitress calls me "hon" or "sugar". To me it's condescending and most of all, it's patronizing. From what I've read and heard, women don't like it either.
But, if it works for him........

I know what you're saying, but he's old school and one of the few people who can get away with it in this day and age . Very un-PC ,and at the same time , very cool . It will fly .

No doubt, Her Thighness has a full campaign in the chute ready to be launched, including “trophy wife,” and “actor running for Prez ala ‘Bedtime for Bonzo.’”
Fred would be a great candidate and an even greater President.

I believe the quicker those that actually see through the actor facade, and see the politician behind that the better...
I mean its hard not to know about his acting career, but his experience as an actual elected official, not a dog catcher function, but a US Senator, would be a good thing to start paying attention to and getting up to speed on...
There are a few burbles that some may or may not like about what he did representing Tennessee, but hey, for the most part, not a lot bothers me about the guy...
Thats just my take on it...
Its going to be a little hard in the primaries for most in this country...Those top three tiered (anointed by the MSM) GOP candidates in my book don’t have a chance in hell...And they know they are in trouble...They’ll blow it off as long as possible, but we’ll see how it goes...
Good thing about my area...There is not a lot of campaining needing to be done...
I pretty much have my list done...

Is Fred Thompson Made of Presidential Material? I'm seriously doubting it.
He neatly avoids the upcoming debate; and, if he's afraid of debates, he can't beat Hillary.
I like the man personally, but I'm doubting he's up to the tasks - both of running a campaign, and of executing the duties as President.
Just opinions based on instinct. I could easily be wrong, here.

Thompson LOOKS like a President and he can obviously ACT like a President.. With Newt Gingrich or Duncan Hunter as VeeP he probably can even BE President..
Hitlery and Bubba would be a Democrat Corrupt Enterprise.. Marketing the Presidency.. even more than George Bush is NOW to employers of illegals and the Mexican Drug Cartels(i.e. Government).. ..

Is anyone even going to remember what happens in these early debates???
There will be debates up the ying yang with Thompson soon enough and nobody is going to remember anything that has happened in these early debates because the vast amount of voters are not even thinking about it yet.
Thompson is gonna slay the Hildabeast.

I like Thompson's attitude about these stupid primary rituals that have become commonplace in New Hampshire, Iowa, and elsewhere. I don't remember John Kennedy or Teddy Roosevelt flipping pancakes or making small talk with butter sculptors.
We're talking about the most important job on the planet. He's not running a theme park here; I think Thompson's annoyance with this type of crap is refreshing.
