Chattanooga businessman John Thornton and his wife, Eileen, will host a fundraiser for presidential candidate Fred Thompson on Sept. 10.
It will be at the Thornton home in Riverview at 12 Rivervista Dr.
The reception begins at 6 p.m.
It is $2,300 per couple.
The former senator is due to officially enter the race for the Republican Party's presidential nomination on Thursday.
He will do so with a video webcast, followed by visits to the early presidential contest states of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.
Chattanoogan Zach Wamp has played a key role in the Thompson effort thus far after helping convince him to make the race.

How can you have a fund raiser without the main attraction? These people are going to be pretty disappointed when they pay all that money and Fred is a no show.

$2,300 is a bargain. I wish I could be there.

Someone has given you bad information, my old friend. Fred will be at the Chattanooga fundraiser in person at 6 PM, after morning and afternoon campaign stops in South Carolina.
