Excellent suggestion and the movie is in my top 10 all time favorites.
WWII vets had a tough transition, but I think VN vets had it worse.

I would suggest “The Deer Hunter” for the Vietnam experience. It is a much darker, bleak film, which reflects a certain loss of innocence and hope.

I agree that the Vietnam vets had a more difficult transition back into civilian life, for many reasons. They deserved much better.
