Press Release: Ron Paul Campaign Hits 40,000 Meetup Group Members

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – As Labor Day kicked off the traditional start of the presidential campaign season, the Ron Paul campaign passed an important milestone: 40,000 volunteers signed up through Meetup.com to help Dr. Paul.

The Paul campaign has been widely recognized for its powerful presence on the internet. The campaign leads all GOP candidates in every significant online metric including: website traffic, MySpace and Facebook friends, Eventful demands, YouTube subscribers and Google searches. The Paul online campaign is now translating that support into on-the-ground organization through Meetup groups.

"All over America, Meetup group members are coming together and organizing to support Dr. Paul," said campaign chairman Kent Snyder. "Our Meetup groups help give us the grassroots support that other campaigns are trying to buy."

There are currently 40,213 Ron Paul Meetup members while Barack Obama, the candidate with the second best Meetup organization, has 5,801 members.

Not to be confused with the previous thread with the same exact headline.

Not to be confused with the previous thread with the same exact headline ["Press Release"]

It looks to me like the first line of the linked Press Release is, in fact, a headline: "Ron Paul Campaign Hits 40,000 Meetup Group Members"

With any luck, the one headline will be fixed, shortly.

Probably. Like most any other candidate.

If you don't like sodomites in the GOP, why don't you write the RNC a letter about it. Make sure you include your name and address. I'm sure they'll want to get back to you right away.

I don’t care that they are in the party. I know some pretty conservative ones myself. What I do care about is their gay agenda being pushed down our throats (figuratively). Ask Calpernia about their agenda.

That’s good and all, but let’s see how many of these “in-spirit” internet volunteers actually end up sending their money to him.

Amazing! I was there both days and filmed the speeches from the “media booth.” In a Non-Binding poll like this to come away with $120,000.00 is the best anyone could hope for. This was the first straw poll I have ever attended. Do they always start these “straw polls” with an hour and a half of Patriot Act and Iraq war propaganda?

Patriot Act and Iraq war propaganda? You mean the dems and the NY Times got to give speeches?

Is the ACLU opposed or for it?

Gay is a red herring.

They are aligned with communists. Call them what they are, communists.

Hillary wrote her thesis based on hiding the agenda behind sex.

Don’t give it to them.

ACLU and expanded federal powers?

Oppose under a Republican president, in favor during a Democratic president. Just like the media. May the cankles of Her Heinous rest lightly upon us. :(

I don't know, but do all Paulistinians start out sounding like Cindy Sheehan?

No, the Patriot Act is awesome (especially Section 802).

Gee, I guess Timothy McVeigh wasn't a domestic terrorist in your opinion, then...
