Thompson will face increased scrutiny, particularly on his record as a social conservative, where opponents and pundits have already ascribed a certain wishy-washiness.
His stance on illegal immigration has been mixed in the Senate. I'd like to hear him explain it. Or at least come out firmly on one side or the other. Even Romney has managed that!

He is not going to declare, I agree with broccoli...
I mean asparagus...
Liver and Onions concur as well...

Uh, “Full Fred Ahead?”
Please. Let’s not do that.
“Hunt for Fred October” is bad enough.

is Thompson candidate enough to torpedo high-Q man Giuliani and base maximizer Mitt Romney?" Q scores are a marketing research measure of name recognition. Giuliani has extremely high name recognition.
I would guess that Romney is referred to as a "base maximizer" because, with his flexible issue positions, he is trying to appeal to both liberals and conservatives.

Who the hell said the start had to be in January of '07? I think it was the media and the Democrats...Republicans one at a time just joined the chorus of media saying if you don't get in by.....you will never make it.
Fred said from the beginning he would be doing things differently. We all know how putting the right team together sometimes takes trial and error! (preseason) Now the true battle will begin. I don't know about you...but I have already heard enough from Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, and John McCain. They could bow out and leave the stage. I would like to hear more from the rest...but that does not appear to be what the media wants.
You have to ask yourself just who this election belongs to? WE THE PEOPLE or to the MSM?

Regarding your post. You are trying to judge or figure out FDT based on your experience and by the predictable behavior of other candidates. I suggest you give that up. I haven’t decided on a candidate just yet, but I have decided that FDT is not like the rest of the pack.

His stance on illegal immigration has been mixed in the Senate. I'd like to hear him explain it. Or at least come out firmly on one side or the other. That's a single issue mindset and since Fred Thompson is patient enough to wait for a reasonable timetable for entering the race, I am confident that he lacks a political focus on a single issue to make for a formidable POTUS.
You will get your answer from Fred soon however you may be disappointed when you find that his mindset isn't focused on just one issue alone.
No worthy candidate is focused on a single issue.

Not for or against Fred, but he looks rather ill. That is my observation. He lost a lot of weight in a short time period. Hope he is doing well. Seriously
