I agree that this is a spectacle that has run its course. The kid screwed up pretty bad, but who here didn't screw up in some way at 17? She placed herself in a position that if she screwed up, it would be broadcast for everyone to see and mock. Not too many kids would even put themselves in that position.
There are mistakes I've made in the last month I wouldn't want repeated over and over for the rest of my life.
She wants to be a doctor one day, hopefully she will learn from this mistake and be a stronger person.
It's played out - taking any further is just petty.

Oh good God, yes. I would HATE to have a video circulating of some of the things I said as an adult under pressure, never mind at age 17. I’m really glad to know there are other, perfect people out there who would never flub anything, on camera and within a time limit. I’ll never be one of them, that’s for sure!
GWB has people writing speeches for him and he still has managed to mangle some of the lines.
