“I admire your loyalty, but any Conservative who doesn’t recognize that Thompson-Hunter is the way to win simply doesn’t get it.

It’s a solid ticket.”

A Hunter/Thompson ticket would be a better ticket, but my favorite ticket of all would be Duncan Hunter/Michael Steele.

Now THAT is a SOLID ticket.

He’ll make a splendid Vice President. Let’s put a Reaganesque fellow whom even non-political people recognize atop the ticket, and a true conservative backing him up and advising him. That ticket does NOT lose to Hillary or Obama.

It's too bad Fred doesn't pick a Duncan Hunter to advise him. Don't you think Fred can do it without a conservitive to prop him up? Hunter can. He doesn't need someone else to make him look conservative.

Hunter is the perfect Vice Presidential candidate, and I think you know it.

Vice President is the prep for the big stage, and I think at this point in his career, that’s what Hunter needs. It will help him nationally in astronomical ways.

Hunter did well.

Even Fox News commented on Paulites over kill in hacking poll results.

I dread future debates and hearing Ron Paul whining all the way through them. Maybe they should place a hankie on his stand next time.

This point in his 'career'? Do you mean his 26 year congressional career as opposed to Freds 6 year on the job experience? Or do you want Hunter to take acting lessons ? Don't you see how silly that talking point is?

Yea, you FRedbots keep trying to sell that....but I’m not buying into a guy who wants to give “aspirations of citizenship” AMNESTY to illegals as a top ticket candidate.

Ditto...except for one thing. As far as I’m aware, no ticket with a sitting member of the Regress as VP candidate has ever won, certainly not since 1900.

Duncan Hunter doesn’t need any prep. He is ready now, in fact, he is the most qualified man running to be commander in chief. Duncan Hunter is the Reagan candidate. Fred Thompson is the Bob Dole, Howard Baker, Arnold Schwarzenegger, etc. Take your pick.

I know you mean well and you are only trying to save us from making a mistake. We Hunter supporters are very confident and comfortable with our decision.

BTW;If instant name recognition is what it takes, Sen. Larry Craig would be a shoo-in.

(omitted from prev post) Excepting Eisenhower-Nixon...and, frankly, I’d rather not go down that particular road again.

The last (and only) sitting member of the House to be elected President was James Garfield, best known for being assassinated.

Hunter is a fine man, good conservative (except for his tendency to vote for a LOT of pork)...but no member of the Regress is a winning candidate these days. Note also that only two sitting members of the Senate (Harding, Kennedy) have been elected President

The people, quite rightly and regardless of political affiliation, do not historically trust the Regress.

''When the Congress is in session, no man's wife or pocketbook is safe.''

''There is no distinctly native American criminal class -- except Congress.''

Need you ask which very famous American uttered/wrote BOTH those statements? Have you ANY doubt as to these statements' accuracy?

>Vice President is the prep for the big stage<

Well, Duncan Hunter has had 26 years of solid preparation for the job. Henry Hyde, a great statesman now retired from Congress, endorsed Rep. Hunter early on. They had worked together for many years.

It has been said that if anyone wanted something done in Congress to give it to Duncan Hunter. He has a magnificent record of accomplishment, and is also well versed in military and foreign relations affairs.

Fred has had 8 years in the Senate. He never did accomplish anything outstanding, except maybe for McCain-Feingold. He was the one who pushed that through, to the severe detriment of the Republican Party.

Incidentally, I watched FDT’s acceptance speech, and it was well done! Of course he’s had around six months to write it. It was well staged, in comfortable surroundins, too, I’ll give him that. He didn’t mention his many years as a lobbyist when outlining his resume though. It must have slipped his mind.
