An unidentified teen is hospitalized today and the Washington County homeowner who allegedly shot him is in jail after an attempted robbery Saturday in Langeloth.

Police said two masked teens armed with BB guns and baseball bats were in the process of robbing the home of Eraldo Iannitelli shortly before 6 a.m. when he returned home. Grabbing a 12-gauge shotgun, he fired at the fleeing teens.

A 16-year-old boy was hit. Neighbors who heard his cries called 911. Police are searching for the second teen.

According to police, Mr. Iannitelli is being charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.

The 16 year old will be charged with robbery and aggravated assault, police said.

You’re still into making excuses for people who attack other people.

HUH?

I don't know whose words you've been reading, but you sure haven't been reading mine.

I tell you I won't kill a kid over a TV and you translate that into "making excuses for people who attack other people?"

On what planet does that sort of translation make sense, 'cause it makes no sense here on planet Earth. If anything, you're making excuses for the shooter and we don't even have the whole story yet.

So, because they are "fleeing" means they can't point their weapons to the rear and squeeze off a couple of rounds?

This is bs. Anytime I am accosted, or my house invaded, by firearm toting criminals, I'll do my best to insure that they are DEAD firearm toting criminals.

Agreed. I’m ready for all this garbage to end.

If that little punk got away, the police wouldn’t have done anything to try to find him. He would have broken into another house and raped some guy’s wife or daughter. But since the homeowner didn’t flee he gets arrested and the police and DA are spending time prosecuting him that should be spent going after people who are a real threat to civilization.

Pittsburgh really isn’t a traditional “left leaning place” like NYC or DC. Most are Dems for sure, but they are gun toting Dems of the deer hunting type. My father-in-law was a union line voter. He also had a deer camp, a pickup with a gun rack holding a red white and blue axe handle, and he loved his snuff. The guy who shot these little creeps was almost certainly a Dem.

If you're talking about the guys who still buy Iron City and remember the good old days at Three Rivers, you're right. But I'm not too sure about those local politicians. Pittsburgh named a bridge after that Rachel Carson loon a couple of months back.

“Anyone who believs otherwise is an idiot IMO”

Anyone who believes otherwise hasn’t been robbed as many times as I have. The law is wrong and probably violated the constitution in some way and violated natural or God given law in every way.

The reason this makes me so mad is because of where our cities are heading. With God completely removed from public life people no longer have any accountability. Sure we’re a nation of laws but those only apply to the law abiding. The people who live underground have no incentive to follow the law because the police will most likely never catch them. When a citizen fights back, we all win but then THEY face the hand of “justice”.

If I catch one of the kids who continually tag my house and I beat them or otherwise give them what they deserve, I’d go to jail. That’s not justice. We need to start fighting back.

I have caught some kids tagging a shed next door to me and I called the police. I gave them a license plat number and description. Nothing. The same kids tagged the building about a weak later.

I’m ranting I know it’s just that I’m so sick of being a prisoner in my home. The police don’t/can’t do anything and if I do something, I become a criminal.

“Even the life of some dipstick burglar.”

I can’t explain it but it goes beyond just possessions. A society that spares the life of people who force their way into another man’s home cannot survive. I spend 40+ hours/wk away from my family and that time spent is so I can have a home filled with stuff that makes my life easier, more comfortable, and more pleasurable. I can’t just say, “oh well, it’s just stuff” when someone comes in and nullifies all that time I spent in toil.

That’s one of the first things they taught us during the NRA course on defense. You can’t shoot at someone who’s committed a property crime if they are fleeing.

Unless you have a buddy to help you drag them back inside.. :)

Pedophiles don’t even make the list. Other than that, all human life has value since they are made in GOD’s image. Killing them for property theft is disrespectful to GOD.

The police don’t/can’t do anything and if I do something, I become a criminal.

That’s the burden of following the rules. The good news is that you will be out of jail and can try to get the laws changed.

In Texas we offer the keys to the city to someone who stands up against home invasion, burgurly, and theft.

Uh, what country is this in?.................

Even in the US, you don't shoot people in the back.

Its NOT the America of Jefferson, Washington, Lincoln, or Adams. As a matter of fact, its not even the America of FDR, Teddy Roosevelt or Dwight Eisenhower.

WE are to blame for this. WE elect the gutless parasites who are responsible for turing our Country over to illegal invaders, criminals, and other lowlives while the “Legal” system has been turned into an illogical parlour game which benefits parasitical police, attorneys and courts.

We can’t have people running around like that and expect our free society to function.

Unfortunately, criminals and the crimes they perpetrate on the underclassses (that'd be us), are but one of the devices our political elite would-be-masters employ as they herd us into their utopian new world order.

The less law and order, the more quickly come the cries for MORE law and order from the underclasses (that'd be us).

Those cries for law and order from the underclasses are frequently heard just before freedoms vanish for all.

“From other local coverage, the perp’s wound (easy to prove) entered from the back. He was, by bullet entry, facing away from the shooter (retreating).”

If the bullet entered the perp’s back, it doesn’t mean that the shooter made a mistake. It only means that when the shooters gun went off, the back was turned toward him.

There have been numerous court cases with plenty of expert witnesses to show that there is plenty of time between the decision to fire and the time the bullet reaches the target (usually 3/4 - 2 seconds) for a perpetrator to have changed there body position, and even completely turn around.

To the uneducated in the dynamics of violent encounters, it seems as though a back entry wound is damning. In fact, it means very little.

“Thanks for the heads-up, tipsters. We can’t ping this one because it was not justifiable self-defense. It’s not just liberal policies, if the bad guys are leaving, you’re not legally permitted to shoot them.”

And if they have guns, and threatened you, how do you know they are leaving, and not just going to a better tactical position, and are not coming back?

Actually, taking them on the wing is more sporting. I’d hope that would be a mitigating circumstance.

“Grabbing a 12-gauge shotgun, he fired at the fleeing teens.”

There was no reason for that. No sympathy from me for either parties.
