An unidentified teen is hospitalized today and the Washington County homeowner who allegedly shot him is in jail after an attempted robbery Saturday in Langeloth.

Police said two masked teens armed with BB guns and baseball bats were in the process of robbing the home of Eraldo Iannitelli shortly before 6 a.m. when he returned home. Grabbing a 12-gauge shotgun, he fired at the fleeing teens.

A 16-year-old boy was hit. Neighbors who heard his cries called 911. Police are searching for the second teen.

According to police, Mr. Iannitelli is being charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.

The 16 year old will be charged with robbery and aggravated assault, police said.

If a guy is fleeing, I’m not going to put myself and my family though the hassles of a criminal prosecution and the inevitable civil lawsuit, particularly in a Left-leaning place like Pittsburgh.

My pets are considered my property and I can say without question that they are worth more than a human life if that human life is trying to take them.

I follow the law,...I expect all others to do likewise. When they don’t, seek maximum injury and revenge!

Then I hope that never happens because you and your pets may end up in cages.
Most people accurately place human life at the top of the list, followed by pets, politicians, and lawyers.

From other local coverage, the perp’s wound (easy to prove) entered from the back. He was, by bullet entry, facing away from the shooter (retreating).

You’re still thinking like a lib—no offense intended. There’s no way some idiot violates my space and walks—assuming I’m not already dead and/or harmed so as to be unable to protect myself. Even in the liberal mecca of Pittsburgh, I think the cops will cut the victim a break if at all possible.

Frankly, I don’t think I could live with myself if I failed to defend my family and my home. The shame would be too great to bear. Some things in life have no price. People who value nothing in life enough to die for are empty vessels.

I know that is not the law in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

When did PA get Castle Doctrine?

You’re still thinking like a lib...

Wrong, this is thinking like a realist and liberals are opposed to that sort of thinking.

Even in the liberal mecca of Pittsburgh, I think the cops will cut the victim a break if at all possible.

The cops maybe, but you can forget about the DA, the local press, or the jury pool being on your side.

By the way, the guy's already in jail, isn't he? How much of a break would you say he's been cut?

And would you really kill a kid for trying to take your TV? Maybe you have a much nicer TV than mine 'cause mine just isn't worth a human life. Even the life of some dipstick burglar.

Since when did lawyers get ranked high than vermin? That’s news to me!

According to police, Mr. Iannitelli is being charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.

According to most people with at least 3 working brain cells, the police in this case should be charged with attempted intelligence, aggravated ineptitude, and reckless stupidity....

"Not true, I would expect them to come back later thereby posing a threat of grave bodily harm or death."

Then he should have waited until that happened and he would not be in the predicament that he is in now.

Who does he think he is???

Some of them are good looking females which could be turned to good use if they’d give up lawyering.

This guy was wrong. Period.

Would you then consider it wrong for a cop to shoot a fleeing suspect?

It’s difficult to know where to begin. The fact that the victim is in jail does not mean the cops didn’t cut him a break. It may mean, given what he said and other circumstances, that he could not be given a break.

As for the kid/TV angle. Kid steals TV today, he steals cars tomorrow and maybe moves on to house breaking and bank robbing. I’m always favored immediate spot corrections. If the kid dies in the process he can’t grow up to be a worse thief. And what does it say about the kid who would die for a stolen TV?

You’re still into making excuses for people who attack other people.

Just being human does not automatically put you at the top of the list. There are a large number of humans out there that are wasting our resources. First and foremost sexual predators.

These days I don’t know who’s worse politicians or lawyers, what I do know is that a politician who is a lawyer would definately be at the very bottom.

“hope the jury consists of former robbed homeowners.”

AMEN. If I was on his jury, I’d acquit him. We had a guy try to break in our home Sunday night while we were at church. He was later caught. From the description of what happened we got from neighbors, he was trying to get us and not get in our home. Had I been home, he’d be dead now. I would have chased him down the street to kill him.

People like that deserve death and I’m a little disappointed the homeowner didn’t kill him. We can’t have people running around like that and expect our free society to function.

“in this state.... he’s a dummy.”

I totally disagree with you. You talk like someone who’s never been robbed in that way. They robbed him with plans of threatening his life, and that of his family, if he were home. They were fleeing but they were still his mortal enemies and his life was threatened by their existence.

In places like West Denver, where I live, we can’t count on the police. There’s just not enough of them. Criminals have the run of the streets and it’s to the point where citizens are going to have to fight back.
